Statland: Most multitalented numberists

Charlie Reams

Charlie Reams Ridiculous max of maxes from Craig. What can I come up with to keep this guy busy?

Matt Hamer

Matt Hamer Hyperaegilops Numbers Attack _might_ do the trick, but with Craig, we're yet to find his limits! Especially considering what he can do with 8 small in Hyper Numbers...

Charlie Reams

Charlie Reams No one's ever got an all 6-small max Numbers Attack, so that's something to work on. (I think the record is 194.)

Craig C

Craig C Yeah I've been trying for that, although talking to Matthew Tassier earlier he said you only have a 3% chance of the 200 being available, so it might take some time before someone gets a 200 all 6 small max.

Mark James

Mark James If you could omlettise aegilops. That could be a good challenge for Craig.

Andrew Feist

Andrew Feist I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed that "sitting down and doing each of them once" got me up to 10th place.

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Well done Gevin!

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Thanks Adam. I've been checking this quite a lot recently to see if it would update!

Martin Long

Martin Long Up to 7th now with the fifth highest Aegilops numbers score of all time. Get it updated!

Matt Morrison

Matt Morrison Gev. You're probably 3rd really, Craig 2nd. Tassier is 1st, it's just Spoilage hasn't appeared on this bugger yet.

All by my reckoning anyway.

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Is it going to appear? Until it appears it doesn't count!

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Also I think Michael Wallace is trying to sneak up on everyone by not playing nasty and then when he gets 200 in all the others he'll have a go at that and jump right up.

Michael Wallace

Michael Wallace I think you over (or possibly under) estimate me.

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Jim Bentley, you're a bastard. The max is now completely off limits.

Jim B

Jim B I know, I've no idea why I suggested it really. Possibly because I'm a cunt.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Thanks Jim, nice suggestion :)

Jim B

Jim B Heh, no probs Matthew. I totally reckon you can better your 148, too. I don't think somewhere around 190 is out of the question (although certainly not by me, I'm happy when I get 50)!

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier I think 160 is certainly doable, possibly 170 with a following wind, but can't see myself getting close to 190.

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Matthew, can I just ask, how do you approach a spoilage numbers round? I don't know where to begin.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier The place to begin is to multiply a large number by a small one. Don't try to work backwards from the answer, that's pointless. Also practise your mental arithmetic!

Jim B

Jim B I find the most frustrating thing is that for most of the ones I get wrong, it turns out that I could've got points, if only I was fast enough to work out exactly where the calculation is going to end up (e.g. declaring 8231 and ending on 8233 etc.)

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Just a matter of time before Bob takes me down further.

Martin Long

Martin Long I will be up to third once this updates. Probably won't last very long!

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Edwin's sure to climb up the leaderboard if he scores 210/200 more often :)

Edwin Mead

Edwin Mead Not if my current Spoilage score is anything to go by.

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Up to 7th! Want to see how high I can get while I'm still top of the other 3 most multitalented leaderboards.

Martin Long

Martin Long I think there should be a leaderboard for "most multitalented multitalented-ists!". Or something like that!:D

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Well there's "Top all-rounders", which includes all the high score formats. Or did you mean one just for these 4 leaderboards?

Martin Long

Martin Long Good work Adam! I meant a leaderboard that includes all formats from the multi-talented leaderboards for conundrums, letters and numbers.

Martin Long

Martin Long Is "Lockdown Jnr" going to be added to this leaderboard?

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Yay the 200+ scores are gone! :)

Charlie Reams

Charlie Reams :) HTH

Martin Long

Martin Long Good work James!

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard For a brief moment I'm top of all 4 multitalented leaderboards (until Matthew plays Octorock numbers).

Steve Balog

Steve Balog That reminds me, I got a decent Octorock score. Need to try the hyper stuff, a better score on Touch/Lock, and the lack of pride to get wrecked by Spoilage.

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Down in 6th now, but I still have the most 200s!

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard We're coming after you, Matthew!

Martin Long

Martin Long I am still waiting for Octolock to be added to this page! ;)

Elliot Bowker

Elliot Bowker and lockdown jr

Martin Long

Martin Long Its tight at the top!

Milo McKenzie

Milo McKenzie oooo when did bob take the lead

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Nice Matthew all square again, it's like Man Utd and Man City!

Martin Long

Martin Long 2nd person to get 14 200s (damn you Adam :D). Really happy to get the max in duckdown, quite an easy variant to get 180+ in a game but quite a tricky format to get the max in

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Nice round number for me :) 100 points dropped overall.

Steve Balog

Steve Balog Well, that's the full set of feasible 200s.

...Now what do I do with my spare afternoons?

Jamie French

Jamie French Well done Steve, looks like spoilage beckons!

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Well done Steve, top work!

Bob De Caux

Bob De Caux Congrats Steve, I'm so disappointed with your definition of feasible...

Martin Long

Martin Long Didn't realise James had overtaken me. Means more Spoilage I reckon!

Martin Long

Martin Long James and Matthew both joined the "15 200s" club today. Well done to both! :)

Martin Long

Martin Long I'm happy with the Octorock/octolock scores now, especially as I don't like Octorock very much (just couldn't get used to it!)

Now might spam the Spoilage NA to try and improve that score (even though me beating 112 is unlikely!)

Steve Balog

Steve Balog Be careful with that, the first day I played Spoilage NAs for like 6 hours straight the first day I tried them and had a pretty bad headache for a couple days after. I do think you can break 112, though.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier You're right Steve, I limit myself to 2 or 3 Spoilage NAs a day. It's just far more intense thinking than anything else on here. Keep ploughing on Martin, reckon you can certainly squeeze a few more points out on a good game.

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell I try to restrict myself to 0 spoilage NAs a day, and it's working quite well for me and my sanity.

David Barnard

David Barnard Well done Matthew!!!

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Congratulations Martin! Such a competitive leaderboard.

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Yeah well done Martin, that's class

Martin Long

Martin Long Thanks guys :-)

Adam Gillard

Adam Gillard Looks like Matthew is heading back to the top after that Octolock PB.

Martin Long

Martin Long Well done Matthew!

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Cheers mate, and well done on your long reign.

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Well done on your Tassier reign also

Chris Butler

Chris Butler This page might as well just be called "Who's the best at Spoilage". It would arguably be even more accurate since heavy-weights like Doohan and Chittenden would be up where they belong!

Chris Butler

Chris Butler There are currently 23 maths formats on apterous but only 20 of them are considered here. It misses out Speed, Bullet and Hyper Bullet. What are peoples thought on me filing a ticket about this? The only downside I can think of is that the table might not then fit nicely and that is potentially disastrous!

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre None of these leaderboards take speed rounds into account. I don't see that as massive issue, but if you are going to ticket it, it should be across the board, not just for here.

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Ok will do. It seems daft to just ignore those 3 to me. The 13 point gap at the top would also be narrowed to just 3 pts although I'm sure MT would quickly sort that out

Sean Fletcher

Sean Fletcher I played a hypertouch and hyper nasty numbers attack yesterday. Should it not be showing on here? did I set it up wrong?

Ray Wilding

Ray Wilding Hypertouch and Hyper Nasty both take Gevin scoring.

Thomas Carey

Thomas Carey they're showing as custom formats in your game history, i think it's cause you used standard scoring whereas the formats use gevin

Thomas Carey

Thomas Carey that was literally 48 seconds come on

Sean Fletcher

Sean Fletcher are they accessible as non-custom?

Sean Fletcher

Sean Fletcher found hyper nasty, but is hypertouch custom setup?

Thomas Carey

Thomas Carey harder variants -> touchdown -> hypertouch -> hypertouch numbers attack

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Well this is on a knife edge!

SNAPSHOT:
1st - M. Tassier - 3915pts
2nd - E. Ashcroft - 3914pts

Edward Ashcroft

Edward Ashcroft I have played a lot of octorock/lock recently to try and improve my score, but have so far failed!

I am expecting Elliott to leapfrog us both soon.

Keith C Williams

Keith C Williams I hadn't realized this page existed until I received a comment on it — maybe because I am barely in at 30th? In any case, looks like I have some new goals for 2021…

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Wow, not been this tight at the top for many years now

Sam Cappleman-Lynes

Sam Cappleman-Lynes :)

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier :O

Martin Long

Martin Long New leader at the top, nice! I need to find time to spam Spoilage NA again lol

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier :P

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Just realised that both Berserk and Hyper Bullet are missing from this

Show all comments
Tal Lessner

Tal Lessner I think that just different time control isn't considered a variant. So the 4 that are different only by time (Speed, Bullet, Bullet H, Berserk) aren't here.

Even on the variants page, these 4 are under Normal & Hyper and not a different variant.

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Oh yeah, I'd not even considered Speed and Bullet. I guess the inclusion of Instant threw me, but there is a subtle difference with that one

Rahul Suresh

Rahul Suresh Perhaps there could be a new table of "Most multitalented speed/bullet numberists" for custom 10s/3s versions of the different variants.

Although playing bullet spoilage numbers is probably the stuff of nightmares :)

Matty Artell

Matty Artell It's wild that there's only 1 point in it at the top!

Tal Lessner

Tal Lessner Could be expected, with 17 formats having almost no effect at the top (other than SCL's -3), and two more having a pretty small difference in PBs.

Nearby: Most multitalented letterists, Top multitalented players, Most multitalented conundrumists, Most multitalented blitzers, Multitalented maxes, Most multitalented letterist maxes.

This table shows the high scores of players who have completed a Numbers Attack. The top 30 players are shown. Raw scores are used.
