Variant: Instant
Rules
Instant is a variant designed to be fast.
Letters round: The letters are selected at random and the round begins immediately. Other rules are as normal.
Numbers round: Once the number of larges has been selected, the working numbers and target are displayed immediately and the players must begin to show their method immediately -- there is no time to plan! Players must shoot for an exact solution, which is always possible to achieve.
Conundrum: The number of points for a correct solution decreases as the round goes on. For example, in 30-second rounds, players receive 10 points for a solution in the first 3 seconds, 9 points for between 3 and 6 seconds, and so on, down to 1 point for a last-second solve. (The scoring is scaled accordingly for other time limits.)
