Variants

Lockdown Jnr. Variant: Lockdown Jnr.

Rules

Lockdown Jnr. is a variant that locks players into using the selection in certain ways (like Lockdown) while also using shorter selections (like Junior).

Letters round: The selection contains 7 letters rather than the normal 9. The first and last letters (highlighted in red) must appear in the word declared. If the two locked letters are the same, that letter must occur twice in the word.

Numbers round: Players are given 5 working numbers, and the target is between 11 and 100. There is only one possible large number (10), and small numbers are 1 to 9. The first number selected, highlighted in red, must be used in the solution. (Note that the solution is still valid even if the red number leads to a "dead end"; for example, if 1 were the red number and 80 the target, 6-1=5, 4x20 = 80 would be a valid solution.)

Conundrum: Eight letters are shown, from which there is exactly one seven-letter word available. This word is the answer.
