![]() | George Ford Shaking and crying |
![]() | George Ford What does this mean for the remaining rounds, what’s left? Hyper Touch, Nasty? |
![]() | Matthew Tassier Yes, those two and Berserk |
![]() | Sam Shepherd Mixing it up this year. Spoilage and Hypernasty are usually the ones reserved for the final round I think |
![]() | George Ford My prediction is Berserk next, then Nasty, then finale is Hypertouch against Rex |
![]() | Matthew Brockwell I'll predict Hypertouch v Plum, Berserk v Rex and Nasty v Rex to finish. |
![]() | Mike Lee I think Tass may balance it so that each bot plays three times which would mean Berserk vs Plum which is also a nightmare. |
![]() | George Ford The pressure absolutely killed me there... Only 2 targets under 3000 is so mean lol |
![]() | George Armstrong Well that was 10 more actual points (admittedly from a complete punt) plus a further 9 on raw score from round 8 (which is the only thing I managed to "work out" and was conveniently a big number multiplied by a small and subtract the other two smalls!)
|
![]() | Matthew Tassier Haha, It does get easier with practice, though I do appreciate that not everyone would find that an attractive prospect. |
![]() | Adam Nicholas Jones In some ways, I'm glad I'm not playing this round! |
![]() | Matthew Brockwell Would be cool to see a top spoilage player commentate a game (perhaps longer rounds)! |
![]() | Mike Lee I am not a top spoilage player therefore my commentary would consist purely of sobs and whimpers. |
![]() | Tal Lessner I think it should be somebody who's decent at spoilage but also dislikes it. So you can get some useful tips and still identify with the sobs & whimpers. |
![]() | Matthew Brockwell Caesar robbing me of 26 points of my raw score makes this look worse than it was, but not my best spoilage. Great tourney, as always one of the best on apto! |

![]() | Matthew Tassier As one of the best players of apterous's most difficult numbers format, Dave overcame Caesar and a particularly tricky looking game to be decorated as this round's Strongest Link. |
![]() | Matthew Tassier It goes without saying that this was a tough round for all, and for 3 players it's the end of the road. Finishing in 10th place with his best WL Numbers performance so far it's Matthew. In 9th, despite his new Spoilage PB of 19 points it's George with his 3rd top 10 placing. And in 8th, busting his run of multiple-of-six-finishes it's been another strong run this year from sometimes numbers-sceptic Chris H. So Chris, George and Matthew you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye! |
![]() | George Armstrong Cheers Tass, keep spoilage till the end next year tho ;) |
![]() | Chris Hare Thanks for organising! And good luck to everyone still standing.
|
![]() | Chris Butler But numbers don't exist, they're a human construct. I suppose they do exist on a conceptual level though. Maybe... |
Notes from the organizer: With Hypernasty negotiated, is it time for something simpler to reward this year's top 10? I'm afraid not as round 21 heralds the relatively early appearance this year of Spoilage in a game against against Apterous Caesar. You'll need high speed accurate arithmetic and intense focus alongside nuanced time-management and decision-making skills. Yes, it's the most fun you can have on apterous. Your opponent Caesar will be tricky to beat, maxing quite a few rounds while totally missing some others. He'll helpfully pick 4 large numbers, but unhelpfully rob you of some hard earned points.
