Tourney round: Aegilopsists: 2020: Sign-ups
Notes from the organizer: Welcome to Aegilopsists, which is the only sort of agent noun I could find for Aegilops. This, as the name suggests, is a tournament taking place in the form of Aegilops. With my dissertation nearly completed this will take place from early June and will finish depending on how many people we get. In 2010, I ran a spoilage tournament (and will run one again over the winter) and this will follow a very similar format.
These will all play as 9-rounders. Because they're better then the Old 15 format you get with Aegilops.
Stages:
- Qualifier - everyone will play Prune.
- Group stage - everyone to be drawn into 4 groups and play a single round-robin, with the top two to qualify (and as many bots as needed to even out the groups).
- Quarter-finals
- Semi-finals
- Third place play-off
- Final
This shouldn't be too difficult a format to follow. Sign-ups will be available until **SUN 7 JUN**.
