Gevin Chapwell Thanks Matthew. There were some pretty tight games there that could have gone either way so maybe my win/loss record was a bit fortunate, but I'm pretty pleased how things turned out!
Sam Prouse Phew, finished, doesn't look like i'll be making the top 2 but it was a fun Tournament to play in, thanks for organising Matthew, and good luck to everyone else in the tournament :)
Matthew Tassier Cheers, Sam!
| |
Sam Prouse Np, Matthew, I hope to see this tournament again in the future :)
Matthew Tassier With one game started before the midnight deadline and finished after allowed to stand, here is the final table:

Matthew Tassier Well done Aidan, joining Gev in the semi finals, and a big thank you to the rest for taking part!
Sean Fletcher Congratulations Gev and Aidan
Gevin Chapwell Thanks Sean.
| |
Matthew Tassier Yep, I wiped the unplayed games, therefore the games here will stay matching the final table above.

Gevin Chapwell Just out of interest, how many remained unplayed?
Matthew Tassier 15, I think
Chris Butler Just a thought for future tournaments.... Do you think the fact that only 2 progress from such a large group decreases incentive to play the unplayed games once the possibility of progression looks less likely?
Matthew Tassier Possibly. Though I like the fact that if qualification is tough then nobody goes into this stage feeling they are guaranteed a qualification position. However a case could certainly be made for a top 3 or top 4 qualification when I run something similar in future.
Dan Byrom Just got back from holiday - apologies for not completing all my games. I tried to get them done before I left but wasn't able to. Didn't have a chance of top 2 anyway I don't think |
Notes from the organizer: After a random draw with Aidan's help on aptochat, here are the group A fixtures.
In this group stage, points will be awarded as follows:
3 points for a win
2 points for a draw
1 point for a loss
0 points for an unplayed game.
In the case of an unplayed game, If one player has tried to organise getting the game played with their opponent being unhelpful/obstructive then give me a yell and I may award a win.
The top two people will progress to the semi-finals, with positions decided first on points gained, and then on the total points difference.
Have fun!
