Notes from the organizer: Aegilops is one of my favourite numbers formats, more varied and challenging than normal numbers, so that's reason enough for a tournament.
The plan is to have a group stage with 8+ players per group to give everyone a decent number of games and 4-6 weeks playing time allowed.
If there are less than 16 players then everyone will play everyone else with the top 2 players playing a best of 3 final. With 16-31 players there will be two groups randomly drawn, top 2 in each going to semi finals. In the unlikely event of 32+ entrants then there will be four groups with the top 2 going forward to quarter finals seeded according to group performance.
