Notes from the organizer: It’s the final major of the season as we head to the iconic Royal Birkdale and Tom C begins his historic Grand Slam attempt.
The field are full of hope and optimism, the sun is shining and the wind is holding off. Conditions couldn’t be better but this course can catch you out even at the best of time. It’s a simple case of consistency, accuracy and converting the chances when they present themselves.
A Standard Letters Attack kicks us off in the season’s final major. There are three pressure holes on the stretch (hole 16, 17 and 18). On these holes, if you declare a word that doesn’t contain any of the letters from B-I-R-K-D-A-L-E then you score will be considered 1 letter longer than it actually is.
Remember - only round 1-18 count towards your score.
9 letter word - eagle
8 letter word - birdie
7 letter word - par
6 letter word - bogey
5 letter word - double bogey
4 letter word or worse - triple bogey
Best of luck!
