Notes from the organizer: *** PLEASE READ RULES CAREFULLY ***
Dan B retains the overall lead though on -18, and is closely chased by the Tom's (Tom F -17 & Tom C -16)
Dave K leads a tight chasing back of the players thru 36 holes with several of our leaders yet to take to the course for round 2.
Matthew B and Adam L both move into contention as we reach the halfway mark.

Round 3 is officially known as moving day and comes with a big risk / reward element. We’ll be taking on a Touchdown Letters Attack and scoring is similar to Round 2, but this time you have a risk / reward choice to make.
You can play the game as normal finding the largest word you can (using Touchdown rules) to get the best score possible, but know that using this method allows you ONLY to score a birdie at best on each hole (see scoring below).
Or… you can pick one letter of the alphabet and declare only words that begin with that letter throughout your entire game. If you do this, then your word on every hole will be considered one letter longer than it is i.e. if you choose P and use only words beginning with that letter throughout your game, then PICKS would be worth 6 or PRIVATE would be worth 8… and so on.
WARNING - if at any point you declare a word beginning with a different letter, then you will have not met the criteria above and all your words - no matter what letter they begin with - will be judged to be only the length they actually are.
For clarity, declaring an invalid word or no word at all, won’t spoil your round if you are pursuing the single letter route. Also, round 19 & 20 are totally excluded from this as they not a part of your game because your round is 18 holes (I.e. rounds 1-18).
10 Letter word (only available by using the single letter rule) = Eagle
9 Letter word = Birdie
8 Letter word = Par
7 Letter word = Bogey
6 Letter word = Double Bogey
5 Letter word or worse = Triple Bogey
Hole 17 is treated like a normal hole in Round 3, so nothing to stress about there.
Good luck!
