![]() | Dave Kempshall Thanks for flagging Mike, should do now. |
![]() | Mark Baker Apologies, I didn’t complete them first round correctly. My bad. |
![]() | Dave Kempshall :( UL Mark. Really important to read rules on all the rounds in this one as none of them follow normal scoring. |
![]() | Gav Grace I played a word beginning with B in my first round. In the next, there was no C drawn. Does that mean I'm out at that stage, no matter what I do? |
![]() | Ravi Choudhary Gav, it was a Touchdown Letters Attack, so you can still have word beginning with C, even if it wasn't in the selection.
|
![]() | Gav Grace Thanks Ravi. Can't believe I didn't cop onto that! Ah well. Brain fart and a half! |
![]() | Owen Carroll Could not get anything better than a 3 in one round… |

![]() | Mark Jeary-Fairbairn Still did okay compare to most so far |
![]() | Owen Carroll Thanks very much |
![]() | Dave Kempshall Forgot to mention that current record score in this round is from Matthew Brockwell with 136. |
![]() | Jon Stammers Wow this is going to be tough! Based on a couple of practices I really need to learn more words beginning with i or u I think!! |
![]() | Jon Stammers Wow, glad I practiced, went so much better than any of my practices, until I got confused somehow and skipped from O to V. |
Notes from the organizer: Thanks you all for signing up for the annual letters festival that is Alphabet Spaghetti. Each page will feature alternative scoring rules for a total of 10 rounds, all to be played throughout November.
The traditional starting point is Round 1: A, B, C, D… which is played via a Touchdown Letters Attack versus Prune.
In this opening round the challenge is to continue to declare words round-by-round that begin with letters that sequence through the alphabet. You can start at any point in the alphabet but must then follow the letter sequence.
For example, if you start with RELATION, then round two will need a word beginning with S, round 3 T, round 4 U and so on. If a player reaches Z, then they need to return to A to keep their sequence going.
If you fail to keep the sequence going, your game scoring ends.
IMPORTANT - only words of 4 letters or more will keep you progressing. If you declare a word of 3 or worse (or a dud word) your game (and scoring) ends.
Because there is a large element of luck involved with the letters Q and X, players are allowed to skip these letter and go straight onto R and Y respectively. However, if you do successfully use the Q and X (using a valid word of 4 or more letters) you’ll receive 5 bonus points to your final score for each.
Example game:
IGLOO
JACK
KINETIC
LOVER
MUMMY
NIGHT
OPENING
POPPY
QUAD (5 bonus points + 4 for quad)
RANGERS
SANITY
TOENAIL
UPWARDS
VANITY
WORRIED
YACHT (Skips X)
ZIP (Declared a word lower than 4 letters long, game end without Zip counting towards score)
* All remaining rounds don’t count towards score
Game score: 97 (92 + 5 bonus points for use of Q)
