Notes from the organizer: Welcome to the sixth running of the annual Aegilopsists tourney (we're not doing Roman numerals yet), so called because it's a better agent noun than "Aegilopers". This, as the name suggests, is a tournament taking place in the Aegilops variant. These will all play as 9-rounders. Because they're better then the Old 15 "Aegilops 15" format.

This is similar to, but more serious than, the once-every-10-years "Spoilers" tournament that most recently took place in 2020-21. If you played in that, or in the previous editions of Aegilopsists, then you'll know what to expect here.

Specifically, the stages are as follows:
- Group stage - everyone to be drawn into 4 groups, football-style (1x pot 1, 1x pot 2, etc) and play a single round-robin, with the top two or top four to qualify, depending on how many we get.
- Round of 16 (if applicable)
- Quarter-finals
- Semi-finals
- Final

If we don't get an exact multiple of 4 signing up, Nude, Waldorf, and Plum will be 1st/2nd/3rd reserve.

*One rule change from last year* - I will not be doing a Qualifier, so as to prevent any chance of perverse incentives. Seedings will be decided by your rating in Aegilops (or, if unrated, 1433): https://www.apterous.org/userratings.php?user=101. Hopefully I will run a wikipage and an Excel document, but that's TBA.

The hall of fame is Tom Cappleman (2020), Dave Robjohns (2021), Stu Harkness (2022), Florence C-L (2023), and Adam Latchford (2024). We have never had a repeat winner of this tournament.
