Notes from the organizer: Tom C (-22) moves two shots clear of Matthew (-20) after both scored excellently in R3 to largely remove the threat of anyone else winning the title. Dan B produced an outstanding -13 in R3 to ensure our leaders have to do some looking over their shoulder in the final round and Florence also lurks on -9 in the unlikely event both our leaders have shockers.
Strong tournaments are also being had by Adam L, Dave K, Sean D and Luke S as they all vie for top 5 finishes.
The final round keeps scoring simple, but with some ‘pressure’ holes coming into play on 16, 17 and 18.
We tackle a Nasty Letter Attack, with scoring as follows:
9 letter word - Eagle
8 letter word - Birdie
7 letter word - Par
6 letter word - Bogey
5 letter word - Double Bogey
4 letter or worse - Triple Bogey
On hole 16, 17 and 18 scoring is doubled, So a 9 letter word will score you -4 instead of -2, conversely a 4 letter word would score you a +6 instead of +3. This could give hope to our chasing pack if our leaders feel the nerves on the stretch.
Remember, rounds 19 and then 20 (if needed) will count as play-off holes in the event of any ties.
