![]() | Sarah Binns Messed it up in the first game. Saddest of times. |
![]() | Mike Lee Just a single palindromic bonus again??? |
![]() | Dave Kempshall Yes |
![]() | Richard Barnett Enjoying these fun variations :) managed to avoid crashing out early this time |
![]() | David Holmes Abandoned attempt at 40 point bonus after 9 rounds. Q, U, V, J seem very difficult if even possible? And then need quite a lot of good fortune to get a valid word with K, Y, Z. |
![]() | Dan Southwell Exactly the same David, got through 10 rounds and looked at what was left and swiftly bottled it!!! Fair play if anyone does it |
![]() | Fi Thorne Really struggled with this round for some reason, my brain just couldn't compute! Crashed out in R3 but wouldn't have lasted much longer anyway! |
![]() | Dave Kempshall You lasted three rounds longer than me Fi :) |
![]() | Fiona T ditto - had an absolute blank in R1 |

![]() | Matthew Brockwell Yeah this can throw really hard rounds, I could have spotted MAIM or OUZO to survive. |
![]() | Adam Dexter Think I had an impossible one :( BQPIEUYID if anyone can find anything please let me know |
![]() | Matthew Brockwell DIED for example works. |
![]() | Adam Dexter Well that's kinda apt for how my game went. Oh well |
![]() | Adam Dexter DUPED also works... maybe round time of 30 mins rather than 30 secs would help :D |
Notes from the organizer: With many of our leaders still to go on R4 I’ll save the leaderboard update until I put R6 live. Full leaderboard is here though… https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rrnBp8HEPf_j9e5d0gNVPsHP4iI324_b/edit?gid=251771468#gid=251771468&range=A1:J1
In Round 5 we move back to a Touchdown LA with the aim being to declare words of 4 or more letters that begin and end with the same letter. NOUN is good, as is DEBATED. RAINING is bad, as is BAD (GOOD is also bad). There is no particular alphabetical order needed, so just keep declaring any words that begin and end the same.
You will ‘bomb out early’ with your game score ending if you declare a word failing to meet this criteria, declare an invalid word or fail to declare a word at all.
IMPORTANT BONUS POINTS ON OFFER…
- We again have a 5 point bonus for anyone declaring any valid and qualifying palindrome (any length 4 letters or above and only applicable once)
- And then there’s a bumper 40 point bonus also on offer for anyone declaring valid and qualifying words beginning with (and ending) in 20 different letters i.e. each round of your game features a word beginning with a different letter. But is it worth the risk?
Example game:
NEON
WILLOW
GOING
POOP (5 point palindrome bonus)
DUCKED
COLIC
GETTING
LULL
HIGH
ROTOR
FLUFF
PUMP
WINDOW
TAUGHT
SERVICES
BOOB
ARIA
EDGE
TREAT
STANDS
Game score = 107 (102 + 5 palindrome bonus - no 20 different letter word bonus).
Good luck!
