Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell That went badly. Better in the practice.

Tim Down

Tim Down For once, that went massively better than any of my practices.

Dan Byrom

Dan Byrom I'm still just rawdogging

Tal Lessner

Tal Lessner Me too (except from one warm up lap before Octorock).
Do plan to have a few warm-ups or even proper practice before some of the future rounds.

Tim Down

Tim Down I've approached this tourney in two different ways over the the years: lots of practice games and angst versus no practice at all. The results have largely been the same.

George Armstrong

George Armstrong This has been the first year I haven't done any practicing and it's largely worked out so far. Someone score <131 plz (unless spoilage is coming next...)

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell I think you're odds on to go through, George. Me and Jack have to hope for some car crashes.

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Still proud I didn't repeat last year's car crash. Although so far this round I've got the biggest difference between raw score and game score. Cheers Plum.

Sean D

Sean D my god 8 small is absolutely brutal! gl all in the rest, thanks for running it Matthew

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Looks like I've got away with it. And Jack.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier A lot of people relieved to get through this one, but Chris B's hyper skills gave him his first Strongest Link title for a while, in a particularly tricky round.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Those leaving this round can console themselves with a top 20 finish, and for Brendan this means finishing in 20th place for the third year in a row! Meanwhile ever-present Sean has progressed further than ever before and Ben gets his 4th top 20 placing, unluckily missing out to Zohaib thanks to Plum trumping his final round solution. So Ben, Sean and Brendan you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye!

Brendan Whitehurst

Brendan Whitehurst Thanks for organising it Matthew. A pleasure to play as always. 🙂

Ben H

Ben H Awful start cost me there! Thanks for all your effort in organising Matthew!

<< Round 17 - Bullet | Round 19 - Nasty >>

Notes from the organizer: Round eighteen and it's the top 20 players this year who will take on the Hyperlock round. Your opponent here is Plum, who won't score strongly but will cause a lot of trouble with his 8 small selections. As it's a Lock format, don't forget to use the red number in your calculations.

Some stats for this round:
Expected competitors: 20
Weakest Links required: 3
Most Hyperlock max games: 2 - Dave Robjohns
Highest average Hyperlock WL score (3+ games): 177.43 - Elliott Mellor (7 games)
Highest scoring Weakest Link: 124 - Ronan M Higginson (2023)
Previous rounds vs this bot: 2023 - Round 19 ( https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=5309 )
For more stats see spreadsheet linked below.

THREE lowest scoring Weakest Links will be leaving the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
