![]() | Matthew Tassier Round 2 in Junior saw a max game from Tom, a final round decider won by Elizabeth against Mike and, of course, an immense tie between Bradley and Adam. After the two of them 19-maxed the original, Adam took the replay with a 27 round max game. Bradley is unlucky to leave the Junior knockout after maxing 65 of the 67 rounds he played.

![]() | Elizabeth Beer I would have assumed that tie breaks would not be allowed on the replay, and that if it was tied after 20R a third game of 20R would be required to be played? Just for clarification, in the unlikely event that this occurs again. |
![]() | Thomas Carey Yeah that makes sense, or you do a sudden death numbers instead of a full replay when you get a tie (which ofc would give the same result here because the lads maxed everything in the replay) |
![]() | Adam Latchford tbf when i set up game 2, i forgot to turn draws off, both me and bradley agreed to carry on and told tass its what we did. i think endless 20 rounders is a possibility in this format that could go on for donkeys years, those two themselves took about 45 minutes as was |
![]() | Elizabeth Beer Well, that hasn’t happened until now, and surely tie breaks would just be enabled if playing time is an issue |
![]() | Matthew Tassier Yes, you are right Elizabeth, the standard would be for a third game to be played if the replay is tied after 20 rounds. But if the game reaches that point after the players have set up the game themselves and they both agree to play on then I've not got a problem with it. If so, a mention in chat at the time, like Adam did, is great for clarity. |
Notes from the organizer: Second round of the Junior format tournament, at least two weeks to play the games. Full bracket available here: https://challonge.com/OmeletteJunior
Rules:
Games will be 20 seconds per round and scored according to STRICT OMELETTE RULES with standard scoring. Therefore there must be no dead ends in your calculation, but you are welcome to multiply by a 1 or add a 0 to help achieve this. Be aware that if you are using the clicky-interface to enter your solution then apterous will accept your solution if you reach the target before using all 5 numbers, so you may need to be careful how you order your steps in some cases. Alternatively input your full solution promptly in the notes box.
See the overall tournament page for further rules clarifications: https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=4263
Scoring:
For simplicity scoring in the knockout rounds uses STANDARD SCORING (exact=10 points, within 5=7 points, within 10=5points). Failure to adhere to strict omelette rules will result in loss of the round. If there are any draws (after a manual check for omeletteness) then there will need to be a replay. Feel free to play a replay before I have set a game up for it, but preferably mention what you are doing in chat.
Good luck everyone!
