Chris Butler

Chris Butler Finally a new number tournament! Love the idea, but don't envy your job of checking every round played! I doth my cap in advance

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Cheers, probably doesn't take me as long as you're imagining, fortunately. Enjoy!

Junior - Seeding Round >>

Notes from the organizer: The Omelette Numbers Championship is a series of 3 knockout numbers tournaments played in Omelette, Junior Omelette and Hyper Omelette formats.

Tournament rules:
Every game will be played in STRICT OMELETTE format. That is, for your solution to count you MUST use all 6 (5 for junior, 8 for hyper) numbers and there must be NO DEAD ENDS in your calculation. Your solution will therefore contain the maximum possible number of steps (5 in normal, 4 in junior, 7 in hyper). Apterous omelette rules currently allow dead ends/burning numbers so I will check through games manually to see if I need to disallow any solutions that don't follow the strict omelette rules. Junior Omelette and Hyper Omelette are not available as formats so games will be played in the standard Junior and Hyper formats with games checked afterwards for any non-omelette solutions. Please yell if this needs any clarification.

Tournament structure:
Every player will be given a game against Apterous Prune in a seeding round. Rules will be as above with stepdown scoring being used. Players will then be seeded based on their verified scores with time elapsed from the beginning to the end of their game being the decider in case of ties.
The tournament will then proceed as a fully seeded knockout tournament with each fixture being best of 1 game with two weeks to play the game. For simplicity during the game, scoring in the knockout will be standard scoring for the variant - so stepdown scoring in normal omelette, but normal scoring in Junior omelette and Hyper omelette.

Sign-up:
Sign up on this page if you would like to enter all three tournaments, or sign up on the individual seeding round pages if you wish to enter just one or two of them.
