![]() | Matthew Tassier Yes, the game will have the standard scoring and then I will convert to stepdown. |

![]() | Matthew Tassier Alongside his game, Chris has posed an interesting question about the use of zeros :
|
![]() | Adam Latchford using a 0 should be okay imo |
![]() | Fiona T I'd agree - as long as all the numbers have been used in arriving at the solution then should be allowed. |
![]() | Dan Spinks I'd never even considered it but can't see any reason why not. the interface allows it and I can't see anything in the current CD rules against using zero- they say you must use whole numbers only which implies that zero is fine |
![]() | Tal Lessner Any solve having the maximum number of steps should be okay imo. |
![]() | Elizabeth Beer I personally feel that being able to use a number which cannot be used with all four operations is nonsense - but then so is having to use all of the numbers in a solve, and the silly gymnastics that entails… Having said that, the interface allows it, and it is of limited usefulness in that even with a repeated number you have to have solved a hyper using five or less numbers, and using just two in junior or omelette normal, in order to get true elimination benefit. |

![]() | Matthew Tassier Cheers all, feedback much appreciated, looks like we're all reasonably happy that use of a zero in your calculations should be allowed, with the proviso that it's correctly incorporated in the omelette style as Fiona and Tal say above. |

![]() | Tal Lessner What about tie breakers? Due to inspection required for each match, can't have them as extra rounds I guess. |
![]() | Matthew Tassier Yes, all games will be 20 rounds long with a replay to be played if there is a draw after the game has been checked. |
Notes from the organizer: This is the seeding round for the JUNIOR Omelette Numbers Attack tournament that is part of the Omelette Numbers Championship, a series of 3 knockout numbers tournaments played in Junior Omelette, Normal Omelette and Hyper Omelette formats.
Games will be 20 seconds per round and scored according to STRICT OMELETTE RULES with stepdown scoring. Be aware that if you are using the clicky-interface to enter your solution apterous will accept your solution if you reach the target before using all 5 numbers so you may need to be careful how you order your steps in some cases. Alternatively input your solution promptly in the notes box.
See the overall tournament page for rules clarifications: https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=4263
Every player will be given a game against Apterous Prune in this seeding round. Scoring will be done by stepdown rules (exact=10, 1 away=9, 2 away=8 etc.) with a manual check done to make sure strict omelette rules have been followed.
Players will then be seeded based on their verified scores with least time elapsed from the beginning to the end of their game being the decider in case of ties.
After this round all players will enter the seeded knockout tournament.
Sign-up on this page if you want to take part in this tournament but not all 3 in the series.
Good luck!
