![]() | Andy SC The top 32 will advance to the Knockout Stages. |
![]() | Carlo Harrison Are the knockout rounds seeded, e.g. 1 v 32, 2 v 31 etc, all the way through (so 1/32 v 16/17 in next round etc)? |
![]() | Andy SC @Carlo - that is what will happen |
![]() | Steven Oldham Small request Andy - can you make the points column bold or a different colour please? |
![]() | Andy SC @Steven - I have highlighted the points column yellow. Let me know bit it is clear enough. |
![]() | Steven Oldham Yes, thanks. |
![]() | Adam Latchford Florence with an incredible amount of bonus points so far |
![]() | Amar Chotai If you score exactly 70, do you get a bonus? Just curious |
![]() | Mike Lee If you lose by a score of say 73-71, do you get two bonuses?!? |
![]() | Amar Chotai Very good point sounds plausible |
![]() | Philip Aston Mike is correct, I checked with Andy on this a few days ago. The winner would still receive 5 points in total in a 73-71 will, so that’s 3 more than what the loser would receive. The idea is you’re not overly-penalised for playing well despite losing. |
![]() | Philip Aston win* And yes, exactly 70 scores a bonus point. 70+ means 70 or more. |
![]() | Andy SC All of above is correct. |
![]() | Amar Chotai Cheers |
![]() | Andy SC Paul James has had to withdraw from Everything Counts IX. I will get around to removing his unplayed games in due course. |
![]() | Adam Latchford How will that work for those who have already played him? |
![]() | Amar Chotai Vg point Adam |
![]() | Philip Aston IIRC, last time round dropouts simply had their games declared void, and any points their opponents scored against them would no longer count towards the standings. That seems to be the fairest policy. |
![]() | Amar Chotai Sounds fair enough |
![]() | Adam Latchford Gutting cos it was one I picked up bonus I'm but fair enough |
![]() | Andy SC To save mucking up the spreadsheet any, Paul's games that have already been played will manually come of at the end. |
![]() | Philip Aston Minor bug: I still have Paul James’s unplayed tourney game active in the game even though he has withdrawn, though it has been removed from my list of unplayed tourney games on the website pages. |
![]() | Andy SC That should disappear after a few days if I remember correctly. |
![]() | Andy SC Unfortunately Alan O'Sullivan has withdrawn. His played games will be removed from the standings once the Round Robin stage is complete. |
![]() | Andy SC Due to having not played any games at the half way stage, I have decided to remove the games for Graham Harrison and Stephen Holford |
![]() | Amar Chotai There's an argument that for those that don't play any games or have to withdraw, everyone who was supposed to play them should get given something rather than having to take a blank for it, just a suggestion |
![]() | Andy SC @Amar - I have always used the policy of declaring the games null and void. Due to the volume of games, it is much easier to award nothing instead of something |
![]() | Steven Oldham I don't like losing points in this situation either, but null and void is the fairest way. |
![]() | Amar Chotai Agreed |
![]() | Cyril Topher I don't understand the spreadsheet andy. How do I know who has played how many games, and how many points they have? |
![]() | Andy SC Click on the tab titled 'IX Table' and the table is there that states what you wish to know. |
![]() | Tom Cappleman Then the P column is number of games played, and PTS is the points |
![]() | Andy SC Quick reminder that there is just 2 weeks left to play any remaining games. Any unplayed games will simply not count towards the standings. |
![]() | Cyril Topher Andy; what happens when somebody ignores request to play tourney games? I have requested, in the past, a game against a player and they just ignore it... I k iw the same person has ignored requests from others; but it's for the them to speak up if the want to. |
![]() | Cyril Topher The player would most likely beat me in the game, but its just downright rude to ignore requests without reason. |
![]() | Andy SC @Cyril - Due to the volume of games in the tournament, any game that goes unplayed in the tournament won't count in anyway. I would like to think people should at least acknowledge a request to play a tournament game from somebody. |
![]() | Fiona T Just to add that I understand that players on ipads can't post in main chat, so sometimes can appear to be ignoring messages when they simply can't respond |
![]() | Fiona T So mebbe aptomail the way to go if you want to arrange a game |
![]() | Amie Bateen There is a way to post when in iPad. You need to swipe up the active tab so that the web browser field is no longer visible. To get the tabs back, you simply tap the top line (showing the active webpage). |
![]() | Cyril Topher When i use ipad i open it through an email link, and that way you can use the chat function |
![]() | Cyril Topher also fiona, you can start a private chat on ipad iirc |
![]() | Mark O'Regan I play on an iPad - I can’t get into the chatbox when I open apterous through Safari. However it works perfectly on Firefox so I play through that.
|
![]() | Dave Kempshall That's good to know Mark. I've always avoided iPad as it's not great on Safari, but will give Firefox a go. Thanks. |

![]() | Andy SC One week left for any games to be played. Please try and get them played. |
![]() | Shireen Hibs I don't see myself finishing these games, life is too busy as it is. |
![]() | J Bartram oh don't worry if you can't. |
![]() | Matty Artell Hi people, apologies for inactivity here, I'll try to be on around 7pm Tues/Thurs & hopefully a lot of Friday to get a few games done, however started a new job this week so no promises! |
![]() | Andy SC Thanks to everybody that participated in the round robin stage |
