Ben H Hey Andy, will the knockout stage be seeded based on round robin performance? (Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere and I've missed it!)
Andy SC @Ben - normally I do a draw. Top half of seeds get drawing against bottom half of seeds. Not sure if I will do that this time or not. May do it like 1st v 32nd, 2nd v 31st and so on. Will inform players once I have decided.
Matthew Tassier I like it being seeded, makes every position worth something even if you are secure in qualifying.
Adam Dexter Feel like I've probs missed something, but is there a current leaderboard for this season? On the link I can only see an overall table for all seasons.
Philip Aston Same issue here, Adam.
Andy SC There will be a table for this season once I do the first update. Which I will do around midnight.
Tracey Mills Some top notch draws there !
Philip Aston Is knockout stage best-of-1 all the way?
Andy SC @Philip - Best-of-3 9-Rounder up to and including Semi Final. Final is best-of-5 15-Rounder
Philip Aston Sounds like a very good format.
Stu Harkness I can't believe I didn't enter this! :D
Stu Harkness Wot a numpty...
Amar Chotai Can't seem to interpret the data in the table, can someone clarify this for me?
Andy SC P - Played, W - Won, D - Draw, L - Lost, BP - Bonus Point, PF - Points For, PA - Points Against, PD - Points Difference, PTS - Points. Not sure if that is what you are looking for but it may help.
Amar Chotai That's not what comes up when I click on the link, instead it shows rows of Roman numerals and boxes coloured in green, that's what I was confused by
Matthew Tassier That's a record of who's entered each series. Click on the "VIII Table" tab at the bottom for this years current table.
Amar Chotai Ah right, cheers for that Tass :)
Amar Chotai Easy, didn't even see it in the first place! Silly me!
Amar Chotai Easy, didn't even see it in the first place! Silly me!
Adam Dexter I am probably being silly, but I have played 65 games with 5 o/s, however there are 70 players which should make 69 fixtures - what has happened?
Dave Robjohns Think there are still 71 players, just Liam O hasn't played any yet so isn't on the leaderboard
Adam Dexter Ahh thanks Dave was just confused - I am in 32nd place on PPG so just watching closely!
Andy SC The automatic tournament table generator I use only generates results for players that have played a game. It can also exclude results for players.
Andy SC I have made the decision to remove all of Liam O's games because it seems highly likely that he wont be playing any games. In other tourney news 74.1% of all games have been completed and with roughly 4 weeks still to go, i'm sure that number will increase greatly. Thank you so far for all your efforts in playing your games and may it continue.
Andy SC 80% of games have been played with just a few weeks to go in the Round Robin Stage. Now might be a good time to start Aptomailing your remaining opponents.
| |
Andy SC James Haughton was withdrawn. Therefore all his played games are null and void and unplayed games have been removed.
Andy SC Done some quick calculations for who has qualified for the last 32 and who has not. Those highlighted green have and those highlighted red have not.
Adam Dexter Just a thought, but telling people they have already not qualified with games o/s may discourage completion?
Philip Aston Excellent point. ^
Carlo Harrison But this should be countered by the seeding structure for the knockout round - every point counts!
Adam Dexter @Carlo, I appreciate it was clumsily phrased - I mean that those in red may feel it is pointless to complete their games. Just a thought :)

Andy SC I encourage that everybody should still try and play all their games and try and finish as a high as they can up the standings.
Carlo Harrison Yes fair point Adam, I'd missed what you were getting at. Hopefully everyone who entered the tournament will still want to keep playing - it's all just a bit of fun playing games of Countdown after all which is why we're all here :)
Eoin Jackson Anytime I am in the game-room, and a tournament game exists... it is the first thing I will want to play. Tourneys take priority over all, and I will never be the princess type who wants to "wait till I'm on better form".
| |
Andy SC Quick reminder that you all have up to and Friday to complete your games.
Stephen Holford I played loads I tried my best |
