Andy SC

Andy SC Reminder that you have up till and including 1st January to sign-up.

Andy SC

Andy SC Record number of Everything Counts participants equalled.

Andy SC

Andy SC Just a few more days to sign up. I have now decided since 64-players have signed up, if any more sign-up I will split it two but still one overall table. I feel this might lead to more players entering.

Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck Pretty intriguing -- the next entrant can snap their fingers and wipe out half of the 2000+ matches!

Andy SC

Andy SC 64 matches more matches to that 2,000+ total would not make to much of a difference but I an hopeful that a fee more people sign-up.

Johnny Canuck

Johnny Canuck Isn’t it only 1100-1200 matches if the crowd is split though?

Andy SC

Andy SC I make it 1056 matches splitting it in two, compared to 2145 matches if it was one. Could always do a vote. :)

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Yeah I personally would love to see it stay as one giant round robin as that’s the beauty of this tourney and what most of us signed up for, but can understand why that might be off-putting for some

Ian Volante

Ian Volante We could knock a lot of them off in the first few weeks of the year while locked in the house.

Andy SC

Andy SC Right lets have a vote to see what people think. After the options are posted please don't comment so the options can stay viable for longer.

Andy SC

Andy SC Option A - One big round robin where everboby plays everybody

Andy SC

Andy SC Option B - Split it in two but still have one overall table

Rhys Benjamin

Rhys Benjamin I think one big group is better. If not, you get complaints about "easy" / "hard" groups (as I know full well!) and I'm assuming we're not pressed for time?

Tourney round: Everything Counts VIII: Sign-up Page

Round Robin >>

Notes from the organizer: Everything Counts is back for its 8th installment. This year it promises to be more competitive than ever before and anything could happen.

The format will remain the same as last year but for those that don't know what the format is here it is. Initially there will be a massive Round Robin stage where everybody will play everybody and each game will be a 9-rounder. Once the Round Robin stage is complete, so many players will advance to the knockout stages, this will depend on how many players sign-up. Players will have roughly 6 weeks to play their round robin games or longer depending on how many sign-up. The points scoring system for the Round Robin stage is as follows:

4 Points for a win.
2 Points for a draw.
1 Bonus Point for scoring 70+ points
1 Bonus Point for losing by less than 10 points

In the knockout stage of the tournament all ties will be Best-of-3 9-rounders up to and including the Semi Final. The Final will be Best-of-5 15-Rounder.

If a super large number of players sign-up then I will consider splitting the tournament into two groups. However, with the lingering tourney games issue being fixed then doing everybody against everybody. Any unplayed ones should dissapear after a day or so providing that I remove them from the tournament page.

The Round Robin stage will start on the 2nd January.

Looking forward to everybody signing-up and some excellent competition taking place. If you have any questions then please do ask.
