Elizabeth Beer

Elizabeth Beer Octorock only has 2 large numbers, 10 and 20, it is Octolock that has 4L as an option

Dave Robjohns Ahhhh cheers - knew one did so assumed it was both!

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Taking Rex to 40 rounds is both quicker and (for people who normally like to finish all games properly) easier using a single round challenge rather than playing actual Octorock numbers attacks. So, just wanted to confirm before I tried it that you are happy with this watered down method.

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Yep - playing a sudden death type game absolutely fine :)

Anthony Endsor Unbelievably bad luck there Sam.

Tourney round: Bot Ladders: Round 5: Octorock Numbers

<< Round 4: Instant Letters | Round 6: Instant Conundrums >>

Notes from the organizer: Our second numbers round will be Octorock. I wanted to find a non hyper numbers game that was very tough to max and one the bots were decent at, and Octorock fits that bill. Like Nice, this is a format where Rex's picks vary, as those of you taking on the third challenge will see (4L is actually one of the easier ones to max!)

As ever, your standard points on the intermediary ladder are:
0 - Didn't play
1 - Beat Prune
2 - Beat Nude
3 - Beat Waldorf
4 - Beat Plum
5 - Beat Caesar
6 - Beat Velvet
7 - Beat Prime
And the bonuses:
Easy - Get over 100 points in your win
Medium - Max game
Hard - Take Rex to 40 rounds

So for maximum points, please submit *TWO* games;
One max game vs Prime (over 100 points) & effectively two consecutive max games against Rex

Why is scoring 100 easy?
Lower bots will allow you to score with a lot of non-maxes
Why is max game medium?
While only 11 people have done it, 6 are in this tourney. As said, 4L can be easier
Why is rex challenge hard?
I haven't had time to test this, but with a lot of 5s rounds thrown in, it will be!
