Joseph H Are we physically awarded gold/silver/bronze medals that go in our Medals of Honour?

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Unlikely unfortunately, I think it requires manual adding by Charlie and I suspect that there'll be a lot more than he's (understandably) willing to do!

Dave Robjohns Small change to the schedule after a fun ticket was brought to my attention:
Opening ceremony moving 1 day earlier (Tue 23/6). Modern pentathlon taking its place (Wed 24/6) with a similar format to this: https://www.apterous.org/ticket_view.php?ticket=3888#p54463

Equestrian now splitting into 2 3 medal events as a result (because we obviously can't just remove hypergoatdown from the Olympics?!), meaning we now have 66 events.

Dave Robjohns Just a reminder that the deadline to sign up for Aptolympics is tomorrow, 20th June.

Additionally, if you've signed up and there are any events/formats you don't want to play in, it's best to let me know by tomorrow. I like to set the games up early, so need to know asap if you want to be excluded from any draws.

Tourney round: Aptolympics 2020: Sign-up Round

<< Event 23: Weightlifting | Event 1: 3 vs 3 Basketball >>

Notes from the organizer: As recently ticketed (https://www.apterous.org/ticket_view.php?ticket=5529), I'll be getting Aptolympics underway soon! While the pandemic has postponed the real thing, it's given many of us time to participate in stupid numbers of online tournaments, so here's 65 of them :P

These events are all meant to mimic a particular Olympic discipline, so I've tried to match up similar variants to events, with varying levels of success! There's a big range with every variant represented and a few multi-format events, so hopefully something for everyone :)

Of the 65 events, 44 will be run via the tournament system, and this is what sign-ups here will be for. For the 21 live tourneys, I'll be adding a page here so all the medals are in one place, but entry will be via aptochat just before the start. Tourney system events make up 70% of the medals to be won.

If you enter here, I'll automatically put you down for all 44 events, but I'm aware some people are not keen on playing humans, or perhaps particular variants. If this is you, drop me a message with what you don't want to play and I'll remove you from those events. The full list of events can be found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/19s4MNWHNXg5OFoU9sKFvzIcggZZ3--_YjqM1PDVd_DA/edit#gid=365244753

As a guide, most events will give you around a week to play matches - so if you're only around a few times per week, you may struggle to get all the human vs human games done.

Looking forward to seeing how it all pans out! By Saturday 8th August, we'll be crowning the new Aptolympics Champion.
