Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Just to clear up a rule query: Any games with round length over 30s won't count (i.e. you can't give yourself 10 mins to think each time)

5 players already scoring 8 points on day 1, and some near misses on the 9th point.

There's also a small update to the text: James Rowan actually got 19 maxes in the format shortly after I wrote this!

Tourney round: Bot Ladders: Round 1: Aegilops Letters

<< Sign-ups | Round 2: Nice Numbers >>

Notes from the organizer: Bot Ladders/Bladders kicks off with an Aegilops Letters Attack, the easiest of three LAs.

To score, you must submit your game vs a bot to me by 21st June (2 weeks). You can submit an effort and then send a better one later in the window, but please don't send me dozens of attempts, only if you actually gain points! I will be adding these games to this page for all to see.

Points are as follows:
0 - Didn't play
1 - Beat Prune
2 - Beat Nude
3 - Beat Waldorf
4 - Beat Plum
5 - Beat Caesar
6 - Beat Velvet
7 - Beat Prime
And the bonuses:
1 - Easy: Set round time to 5 seconds or less
1 - Medium: Have scoring declarations featuring every letter of the alphabet
1 - Hard: Score in every round

You can have as many attempts as you want, and can start with whichever bot takes your fancy (i.e. no need to beat Prune before playing Nude etc)

Why is this format "easy"?
Even Prime misses a lot of tnetennbae
Why is the time challenge "easy"?
Can often find maxes quickly, bots miss tnetennbae
Why is alphabet challenge "medium"?
LA Selections tend to include the whole alphabet at least once
Why is scoring in every round "hard"?
Prime will push you hard most tough rounds, and nobody's achieved even 18 maxes since 2014.

Best of luck! Scores will be updated regularly here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Uqa7W-5bYxb2P18IQw-FUAYlEa7jHeO3keCFjw99gGY/edit?usp=sharing
