Bradley Horrocks It's a shame the player order can't be fixed so that each player gets a chance to pick the Ls and Ns.

Andy SC Aye, that could have been fixed by probably doing best-of-2 but then if each player won a match then it goes to best-of-3

George Armstrong RE: Bradley's comment, so it seems like however you listed here (as in P1 and P2) may not necessarily be how you are allocated in game.

For example, I've just played Johnny twice, was listed as P2 twice on here, but as P1 both times in game, so who knows...

Andy SC Well guess it seems just have to put up with whatever you are giving. I'm not to fussed as long as games are played.

Bradley Horrocks I'd be tempted to make that change in future rounds - it's fairer and more realistic. You use the home/away rule in EC and it would make far more sense to do it in a tourney replicating a competition which uses home/away legs.

Zarte Siempre Yeah, it doesn't go by the order on this page, it goes by the order you enter them in, so you really ought to do them both ways around or it makes a bit of a mockery of the format giving people 2 home legs.

Andy SC I used the automatic fixture scheduler to schedule the fixtures and had to do that twice for each group. In retrospect probably should have done best-of-2 and if each player won one game each then so be it but at least that would have been fair. One thing that players could do 'if they trust their opponent' to pick for them in one of the games.

Tricia Lockhart Well, I picked on neither of my games with Johnny. It would be nice to blame that for the outcome, but no, he outplayed me both times.

Ian Birdman The letters are quite tough to coordinate picks but I think it's reasonable/fair for player 1 to ask player 2 what number selection they would like in the 2nd game. And then select accordingly of course :-)

Andy SC with the letters could just ask how many vowels they want and just put up with that.

Zarte Siempre Andy, I understand it was an honest mistake, but in a competitive tournament, players shouldn't have to "put up" with things that disadvantage them.

Andy SC That is very true, would it be too late to scrap this and start group stage again?

Zarte Siempre Were it me, being early on, I'd delete the games that haven't been played, manually re-enter them, and offer anyone who has lost a 2-0 on 2 aways the opportunity to have a "home" leg. Most won't take it, but best to offer.

Up to you of course, but you run the risk of making the bulk of the tournament have a lesser significance if a clerical error was responsible for some of the early results.

Andy SC Sorry for this everybody but as discussed above and in apto chat and in order to make it fair for everybody I have decided that all results so far will be wiped and we shall start again in order to make it fair for everybody. Sorry for any trouble this causes and people that had already played games. Thank you.
