Fiona T Confused, but I'm sure it'll all make sense when it happens!

Andy SC

Andy SC What confuses you, Fiona?

Fiona T

Fiona T The team thing mainly, but it's fine - will go with the flow. :)

Andy SC

Andy SC Each player will be assigned to a team competing in the actual Champions League. For example as it stands you would be assigned to Chelsea and Eddy would be assigned to Real Madrid .

Fiona T

Fiona T Ah - penny drop - one team per player, not that we're playing in teams

Andy SC

Andy SC Yup indeed.

Andy SC

Andy SC Tomorrow is the last day for sign-ups and I have decided that sign-ups will close as soon as tomorrows ATP tournament is finished - this will be at roughly 9pm.

Owen Carroll On the 20th, what time does this start?

Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson 2 finals in a row and LFC are still only 8th seed?

James Haughton

James Haughton The team coefficient is based off a side's performances in Europe over the last five years, so Liverpool will shoot up to the top 3 in a year or two

Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson I like this UCL format, it's very EU ;-)

Paul Anderson

Paul Anderson The winner should get the latest shirt of their team as a prize. If we all donated a pound, that'd cover it?

Group Stage >>

Notes from the organizer: Hello everyone and welcome to the Sign-up page for the 2019 Apterous Champions League. This tournament will run in a similar way to the actual tournament where there will be qualifying rounds (if necessary), group stage and knockout stages (two legged ties) except from the final.

Each player will be assigned to a team based on their pro rank and the teams coefficient. The highest player in the pro ranks will be assigned to Real Madrid, 2nd assigned to Barcelona, 3rd assigned to Bayern Munich and so on until every player has a team to represent.

Each game will be played to the Apterous Champions League format which will be 11 rounds long: LNLLNLLNLNC and all the letters and numbers rounds will be picked by whomever player 1 is. Players will have 4 weeks to play all their Group Stages matches and 2 weeks to play each round of the Knockout stage. As for qualifying rounds (if necessary) it will depend how many people are entered into the tournament.

There is no limit to the number of people that can sign-up for the tournament. All abilities are welcome and it would be preferred if you are a subscribed member of Apterous.
