Tourney round: Sudden Death Numbers Tournament : Sign-up Page
Notes from the organizer: If you like numbers and something that could either be over in a heartbeat or could be an endurance test, then this is the tournament for you.
This tournament is what it says on the tin - Sudden Death Numbers. The first stage of the tournament will consist of a Round Robin stage where players will play in groups. The size of groups will be dependent on how many players sign-up to the tournament. The number of players advancing to the knockout stages from each group will again be dependent on how many people sign-up to the tournament.
The the round robin stage players will be ranked by numbers of matches won. If there is a tie for number of matches won then whoever won their matches in the least number of rounds will be ranked higher. If there is still a tie, then whatever player has played the least number of rounds in the tournament will be ranked higher. Any unplayed games in the Round Robin stage will simply not count towards the final Round Robin stage standings.
In the knockout stages it will still be Sudden Death Numbers but will either start as Best-of-3 or Best-of-5 numbers. This will be dependent on how many people are to participate in the tournament. Each subsequent round will follow a pattern of adding two to the previous rounds best-of-x i.e. Best-of-7, Best of-9, etc.
Sign-ups for this tournament will remain open up to and including Friday the 12th of April. Sign-ups will close at midnight with the group stage draw following very soon after which will be conducted live on Apterous. Fixtures will then be added very soon after.
