Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney Hiya lads (and ladies), I would like to note that it does say that you don't need to sign up if you were in the last cycle. I'm just restating it here for future reference. I will accept anyone who has needlessly signed up, but this is just here to save you the few precious seconds you spend re-applying. :)

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney Just to let everyone know that Transude Transude has sadly withdrawn :( This means that there are now 6 players in Division 1.

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney To fill the gap TT has left, the highest ranked player from last cycle (that wasn't promoted from their division) has been promoted to fill all the domino-effect-esque spaces created. This means that Jim Michael has been promoted to Division 1, Ian Volante to Division 2, me (^_^) to Division 3 and Matt Croy, who was the highest-ranked of the new players, to Division 4.

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney Steve With Two Spaces Anderson unknowingly making me reset the fixtures for the second cycle in a row. (Just looked it up and there are over 150 Steve Andersons with the spelling "Steve" alone on Facebook, and God knows how many more, because I certainly couldn't be bothered to look it up) This is to sort out the confusion everyone else in Division 3 must have had when they found out they had to play a trial player who has played 3 games and hasn't been on the site for 6 years...

Stephen Holford

Stephen Holford Do we have tables up yet?

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nv7vm_jx47YSmM2BVvsLFOhOib12uL0W_jJjnrSAKW0 We do, albeit they're as of yesterday as I'm sending them

Tracey Mills

Tracey Mills I will play these tourney games when I get back from my holiday, ship internet is not brilliant.

Stephen Holford

Stephen Holford Apologies for not playing any games yet but will rush through them soon. I've checked division 3 and I'm not sure I want to be promoted lol

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney So, there are but nine days to go until the league stage of the 28th Cycle draws to a close, and a few who have not played a noticeable amount of their games (who will have to squeeze them in over the next week and 2/7's). For those people especially (but for everyone else with unplayed games as well) can you please make sure to add me to your Aptomail threads for organising games? (Obviously doesn't apply if you've played all of them) From my point of view, there are no threads concerning the League, because (assuming there is at least one) I haven't been added to any of them. Keep in mind that, if the situation is the same/similar come the end of the cycle, this means that I might have to take an awful lot of points off people, seeing as there is presently no proof that any white games are being organised by anybody. This could also put people's title/survival hopes in some jeopardy, so I'll recommend that we start organising games soon, pls and ty :)

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney If, however, you just don't feel up to it and you want to withdraw, let me know via Aptomail, and you will be sorely missed :(

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney Huge respect to everybody in Division 1 for managing to get all their games played. Congrats to Brad on his first title, and to Thomas and Zarte for a very respectable 2nd and 3rd, as well as to Jim and Hazel. Good luck to Spike and James Haughton in their playoff game, and Eddy will be sorely missed. :(
Nevertheless, thank you all so much, you're all stars :)

Spike Nard

Spike Nard Thanks for running Piaras :)

Bradley Horrocks It's been good fun, just like last time! Thanks Piaras and roll on 29 :)

Stephen Holford

Stephen Holford I've doen two more games tonight and am available if any of my opponents are Sorry Piaras I will play the games more promptly next season Thanks for organising

Stephen Holford

Stephen Holford Any chance of a Brexit style extension?

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney And with that, the league season of the 28th Cycle has come to an end. Just before I confirm what are and what aren't the final standings, can anybody who has (at least tried to) set up games, but not played them add me to any Aptomail threads that served the purpose above? Point-off-taking can be a controversial business 'round these parts, and I want to make sure I've got everything right. (I'm certain there won't be, but if there's anybody who tries to send me threads that they made today after the cycle ended just to get a point off, on yer proverbial bike.) The deadline for adding me to these threads is at least 1 p.m. tomorrow, plus whenever the playoffs are approved. After that time has passed, they'll start.

Piaras M Carney

Piaras M Carney P.S. Sam Reilly has unfortunately withdrawn. :( I've decided to keep the reason private unless she gives permission for me to disclose it, but I fully respect her decision, and cheers for participating in the League.

As a result, there will be no automatic relegation from Division 4 this cycle, just the playoffs.

Tourney round: The Apto-Tude League: Cycle 28

<< Cycle 27: Play-Offs | Cycle 28: Playoffs >>

Notes from the organizer: So, Apto-Tude XXVIII has begun!
Same rules from last time, obviously. If you don't really know them, I have made a document of the rules, which can be found on this link: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1K-hWMwOUR3f4b6JF5SmL9YViQgy4zQkDF_-OQWoztB4

You don't need to sign up if you were in the last cycle, obviously. Unless, of course, you do withdraw and then change your mind a few days later. In which case, you'll just be put in the division you were in as normal. (Just in case that ever happens.)

Sign-ups will close at 12 p.m. GMT/UTC on the 27th of January. The cycle will probably start 15-25 minutes later.
If you live outside of Britain and want to sign up, I have provided a list of time zones here in case you leave it until the last day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_time_zone_abbreviations

Will Thomas Carey win his second successive title, or will we have a new champion in the ranks?
