Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre Slightly breaking with tradition here, but as I seem to have taken it over, it feels the correct way.

To accommodate an easier and more balanced format for the preliminaries, the 2 highest proranked non-Masters have been moved straight into R1 proper. They will not have Masters status in the draw, they simply just don't have to give some more swine a tanning in R1. These are Johnny Canuck and Luke Johnson-Davies. This leaves 12 spots in R1 proper, and 36 players, meaning each of the 36 will be drawn into a group of 3, with the winner of each group advancing.

Each game will be best of 3. In the event of a 1-1-1 split, the player winning their game in the fewest matches will take precedent (A 2-0 comes before a 2-1), after THAT the player with the highest average maxes per game will advance. If there is STILL a tie, it will be awarded to the player with the higher prorank.

Draw done later today.

Andy SC

Andy SC Are you needng assistance with the draw? I'll be able to to help if my internet is working in time.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre Sure, that'd be good. I'm hoping for around 7pm.

Andy SC

Andy SC Cool I will try and be there for then.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre Sorry Andy, my day got thrown off kilter. You weren't here so asked Spruce.

Ian Birdman

Ian Birdman I assume it comes down to points difference if everyone wins one game in the group?

Noel Mc

Noel Mc Oh no! I forgot to sign up :-(

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre No you didn't, Noel - you're a Master this year. You're not in this round :)

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre Matthew Tassier becomes the first man through to face off against The Masters. Well played Tass!

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Cheers Z, I was lucky to squeak through there.

Ian Volante

Ian Volante I think Martin v Sean should be a belter.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre I concur. Although you hardly shamed yourself against them either!

Ian Volante

Ian Volante Hmm, should have done better I think.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre James Hurrell makes his way through too. Well done James!

James Hurrell

James Hurrell Thanks - good to get some 'older' ones through!

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre After the 2 "older ones" as James put it, there's a fresh face making their way through to the Masters.

Ian pushed Spike close, but Spike did enough to seal the deal - well done Spike!

Spike Nard

Spike Nard Cheers Zarte- not an easy ride against either players- both worthy of advancing.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre A couple more winners emerge.

Transude takes the place that frankly he was always likely to, but does have a scare against Jonny...

And J E sweeps aside his opponents comfortably.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre Herbert Plank doesn't live up to his name, and makes it through to the next round.

Zarte Siempre

Zarte Siempre OK, so after considerations are taken into account, the full list of players to make it through to the first round proper are as follows:

Transude Transude
J E
Spike Guthrie
Andrew Hypes
Chris Hare
Matthew Tassier
Ray Wilding
Sean Fletcher
Mark Murray
Herbert Plank
James Hurrell
Robin M

They will join Luke Johnson-Davies and Johnny Canuck as non-masters in the draw, which will take place tomorrow.
