Tourney round: The Multiverse 3: No Raw Deals: Sign-up page

Goatdown >>

Notes from the organizer: Ah it's the time of year when the first details of everyone's favourite autumn pastime, but enough about Strictly. Sign-ups for the Multiverse 3 are now open!

As ever, each week a different format entrants will be scheduled to play a game against Prune in a different format (e.g. Hyper). Scoring is similar to the duel, e.g. if 24 people play in one stage, the person who comes first earns 24 points, second 23rd etc etc.

The schedule for this year is....

Week 1: Goatdown
Week 2: Touch Junior
Week 3: Unlimited
Week 4: Hyperlock
Week 5: Omelette
Week 6: Duckdown
Week 7: Junior
Week 8: Octolock
Week 9: Spoilage
Week 10: Aegilops
Week 11: Touchdown
Week 12: Lockdown
Week 13: Hyper
Week 14: Nasty
Week 15: Stepdown

However, this year sees a big change to the format. In previous years, scores have been converted into Stepdown to attempt to make the playing field as level as possible, well I'm afraid this is out, and it will be your scores in the game that count. I wish I could say there was an elegant reason for this, but in all honesty, it's because converting the scores was too tiring for me last year and it (as well as a few, non-apterous issues) really tired me out last year so it's mainly for the good of my health.

Also, a smaller change this year will be the introduction of a more difficult aspect to it. Your round in the junior format will instead be against Apterous Rex, instead of Prune, to really put the cat amongst the pigeons.

But otherwise, most things are staying the same, which includes the bonus points! As ever these can be earned by the following ways.....

Pencils- As it says on the tin, if you earn a pencil during a tournament game, you earn a bonus point

Numberwang- Going back to the original method on this one, I will use a Random Number Generator to select a number (not revealed until after the conclusion of the week), and if anyone scores this, they will earn 2 bonus points. If nobody gets it spot, the person (or people) nearest to the score will earn 1 bonus point.

Joker- About a week before the start of stage one, I will be sending out a private message asking you to nominate a format for you to use as your joker. This will double the number of points you earn in scoring for that week. E.g. if you come 3rd out of 20, instead of 18 points, you will earn 36 points.

SIDE TOURNEY.......

As mentioned in the original ticket, this year will see the start of a small side tourney. The Top 4 for each week (plus ties), will then go forward into a round robin tournament the week after, playing 9 rounders in the previous format. No points for the main tourney, just a little added fun and a separate table for these will, hopefully with the different formats, we shall get to see as many of you as possible in the spin-off.

Good luck and happy Multiversing!
