The Java console is a log of what apterous gets up to. It's easily accessible; just right-click the Java icon in the system tray (in the bottom right of your screen, next to the clock) and choose "View console". From the console window that pops up, press "Copy", to copy all the data to the clipboard, and then paste this data into an email to charlie@apterous.org.
If you do not have a Java icon in your system tray, it has probably been disabled. You can turn it back on using the Java settings accessible via the Control Panel.
