![]() | Dave Kempshall Sorry for the fixture Aptomails for all three. Still getting used to turning that off. |
Notes from the organizer: We now move away from linking words with R3 focus being words containing consecutive repeated letters. It’s also an upgrade in format to a Hypertouch Letters Attack.
The aim of this round is to declare words containing consecutive repeated letters. In any round where you declare a word using these, your score for that round counts towards your total. If you fail to declare a double letter word, that round counts for nothing (no penalties in this round though).
BEEP would score 4 points.
HAMMER would score 6 points.
SUMMATION gets you 9 points
MATRIX gets you nothing but it DOESN’T end your game and there is no penalty.
etc.
There are extra points on offer again, but this time via a multiplier rather than a bonus. If you manage to declare a word with either two instances of double letters, or three - your score for that word will be doubled or tripled respectively.
i.e.
DEEPNESS would score you 16 points.
BOOKKEEPER would score you a cool 30 points
Imagine if BOOKKEEPERLESSNESSES was a word (and Hypertouch was 21 letters). Sadly neither is the case.
Florence C-L smashed the all-time record for Bookkeeper’s Delight last year with a score of 200.
