Florence C-L

Florence C-L "If there is a tie for the longest between any of the players on either team then the hole is halved". Can I clarify. If both me and my partner score 8 and the other team score less, do we get half a point for that hole, or 1 point?

Elwin Carlos

Elwin Carlos I think it's 1 point Florence. If both of you outplay the opposition, then you win the hole.

Tourney round: APGA Tour 2026: Solheim Cup - Saturday AM - Fourballs

<< Solheim Cup - Friday PM - Fourballs | Solheim Cup - Saturday PM - Foursomes >>

Notes from the organizer: Europe came out of the blocks firing on Friday moving into a 6-1 lead with a mix of dominant performances, and also edging the tight games. The USA finished the day with a vital win to keep them in touch at 6-2 though with late replacement Steven O playing an important role in getting that point alongside Ravi who has been involved in both of Team USA points so far. Team USA are going to need a strong Saturday to keep in contention.

Ad that’s where we are now - Saturday morning - and another four Fourballs played across a Nice Letters Attack. Matches are as follows…

9 - Tom C & Joshua M v Florence C-L & Andrew S
10 - Dan B & Jamie F v Matthew B & Arthur P
11 - Tom F & Elwin C v Stu H & Sean D
12 - Mike L & Colin T v Adam L & Ian W

Scoring:

Fourballs is a doubles match again, but this time everyone’s full 18 holes count towards the scoring. Again, round 19 and 20 don’t count.

Out of the four people playing in each match, whoever scores the longest word on each hole (rounds 1-18) will win the hole for their team. If there is a tie for the longest between any of the players on either team then the hole is halved.

The team with the most hole wins after 18 holes picks up an overall point for their team. If the scores are level at the end of the match, the match is ‘halved’ with each team earning 1/2 a point.
