Notes from the organizer: Mike L jumps into the lead at -15 in The Open as he continues his stellar season contending at the top. He’s closely chased by Matthew B (-14) and Ian M (-13). Our Grand Slam seeker Tom C is not far behind though on -12 alongside Adam L and Tom F with Florence one further back on -11.
Positions are becoming important now for anyone looking to make into the top 24 and participate in the Ryder Cup in September. Ian M could catapult himself into contention if he can maintain his position, but several others are also staking a claim.

Back to the tournament and we hit moving day, where the field promises to string out with a Lockdown (L). This is designed to reward risk but also includes an element of luck which is common at The Open as the greens dry out. A cheeky bounce here and there can be the difference between a birdie and a triple.
9 letter word = Eagle
8 letter word = Birdie
7 letter word = Par
6 letter word = Bogey
5 letter word = Double Bogey
4 letter word or below or zero score = Triple Bogey
Hole 16, 17 and 18 hold pressure value this time. Any words beginning with C, L, A, R, E, T, J, U, G will be rewarded as one letter longer than they are (i.e. a birdie would become an eagle).
R19 and 20 still don’t count. Good luck!
