![]() | Adam Latchford Runs from 7th may to 11th may (ignore the note). 11th May is the last date to play this one! |
![]() | Mike Lee Out of curiosity, is there a reason why Rex has been blanking on a few rounds. I didn’t think that was possible and he always maxed. |
![]() | Tom Cappleman I think it doesn't know about the rule that you don't have to use all the letters if you can't. So it blanks those rounds because it can't find any valid word |
![]() | Ben Bazzard How are people managing to type (and spell correctly) words of 45 letters in 30 secs?!
|
![]() | Joshua Mccune It's all in the muscle memory! |
![]() | Adam Latchford You all have until the end of tomorrow to finish this. I'd highly recommend playing this variant - it's the biggest chance for mega points in the entire tournament :-)

![]() | Ben Bazzard Thanks Adam. I looked at what I'd typed the next day and realised it might have looked like I was questioning some people's legitimacy. But in actual fact it was a genuine 'wow' from me, having had a few glasses of wine, that so many are so good at this variant. |
![]() | Mike Lee Ben, I remember Catchword (hosted by Paul Coia) when I was a kid and the best answers then were always pneumono….., floccinauci…., antidisestablishment….. and ddt (no longer in). Those words have therefore stuck with me through life. |
![]() | Dave Kempshall Strategically Ben, if it helps. I have 7 spoilage words that I broke down into segments so I can remember how to spell them. If any of those come into play I'm golden. If not I'm fending for myself on what I can spot from the selection. Typing doesn't take too long as you tend to spot early which word fits in. If you want to be sure you've got the right spelling (and have time) you can type it twice and - if the first spelling was correct - both should only appear as one declaration. |
![]() | Tom Cappleman Definitely recommend Dave's re-type it tip (see my rounds 1 and 2) |
![]() | Dan Spinks floccinaucinihilipilification and antidisestablishmentarianism are permanently etched in the mind of those who watched low budget gameshows in the 80s |

Runs from: 5th - 9th May. This round is a spoilage 15. Some horrible numbers, a conundrum that only about 4 of you will get but a great opportunity to boost your score hugely with some supercaliduperlong words.
12 rexxers here who want to make spoilage even worse for themselves (although it is a very logical punt for rex here)
Good luck to brett, Damian, Fiona T, Florence, Ian V, Ian W, Jamie, Matthew Tassier, Ravi, Maus, T Cap and Wesley!
