![]() | Chris Hare Suggested format:
|
![]() | Matthew Brockwell Can we satisfy multiple criteria with one word? |
![]() | Chris Hare I don't see why not. |
![]() | Wesley Barton For round 20, does it have to be from a game you have played prior to Game 8, or can it work retroactively? |
![]() | Chris Hare At the end of the competition, I'm going to take your submission for category 20 and check through all your other games for a match. It's entirely up to you which order you choose to play the games. (So it's entirely legitimate to play this one first but leave writing the comment telling me what ticks what until after you've played everything else to give yourself more wiggle room.) |
![]() | Ben Bazzard Absolutely crazy! I love it :D |
![]() | Jon Stammers Wow so much to think about here!! What about plurals and slight variations? Would AGOUTIS be ok for "A mammal" or strictly only "agouti"? |
![]() | Chris Hare If I asked you to find me a mammal and you brought me a bucket of agoutis, I'd be compelled to say that you'd met the brief, so I'll allow plurals. |
![]() | Adam Latchford If you rule out coral for not being a mammal I'm sending her out to come and get you |
![]() | Fiona T honorary reptile shirley? |
![]() | Jon Stammers If I played "red" twice and put it for "colour" and also for "something red" would that be ok? I notice following Matthew's question he's attempting to use words for more than one category so maybe I wouldn't need to play RED the second time??? |
![]() | Chris Hare Yes, using one round to tick off more than one category is allowed, so if you declare RED once you can enter it both as "a colour" and "something red".
|
![]() | Fiona T Now I'm wondering what the best word would be to tick off as many as possible |
![]() | Dave Kempshall I destroyed my game chasing CARDINAL. |

![]() | Jon Stammers TURKEY would be nice (bird/foodstuff/something cold/something festive) |
![]() | Fiona T Something you can put on your head... https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/cA5YP5EtwJoM8FWwJetQJW.jpg (not sure about safely!) |
![]() | Fi Thorne That was so fun! :-) |
![]() | Jon Pinyan Fiona, I feel like TIT covers a lot of ground: 2, 4, 7, 11 (perhaps), and 20 (if you played it in the palindrome game) |
![]() | Martin Hurst And 15 surely |
Notes from the organizer: Game Eight! Nurse, the screens.
We're heading into uncharted territory, as I send you all off on the first ever Chris-mas Scavenger Hunt. You have a Touchdown Letter Attack to play, in which I'd like you to find (that is, declare and score points with) the following things (in no particular order):
1. A colour
2. A bird
3. A mammal
4. A body part
5. A foodstuff
6. An abstract concept
7. A rude word
8. Something red
9. Something cold
10. Something festive
11. Something pointy
12. Something heavier than you
13. Something with wheels
14. Something you shouldn't turn upside-down
15. Something you can safely put on your head (but isn't a hat)
16. A word with a Q in it
17. A word with a J in it
18. A word that doesn't have any letters in common with LEOTARD
19. A word that rhymes with, but isn't, HARE
20. A word that you declare (validly) in another Game in this tourney.
Each item successfully ticked off will score you a point, and the player with the most points will win. In the event of a tie, the player with the highest game score will win; if there's still a tie after that, I'll break it on artistic merit.
For ease of scoring, I'm going to ask you to write a comment on your game's page explaining which round ticks which box. (I'll put a comment on this page with a suggested format.)
The BONUS TOURNAMENT POINT will be awarded to any player who scores at least three maxes during their game.
If you have any questions about the rules, scoring, or anything else pertaining to this tourney, please feel free to ask.
