![]() | Matthew Brockwell If I've understood the rules right, you can essentially prepare your second game with a lexplorer session with the "words using" tool on your opponent's first game. Is that correct, because it takes a lot of fun out of the format if that is the case? |
![]() | Martin Thomas I had been planning to allow lexplorer research but not for any notes from it to be taken into the game.
|
![]() | Dan Spinks I'm not 100% sure I understand the format but if it is what I think then it would seem like more fun if the games were played at the same time |

![]() | Ian Volante Sounds like it's irrelevant what letters come up in game 2. |
![]() | Martin Thomas In game 2 you can use your letters to make a longer word than your opponent declared.
|
![]() | Anthony Endsor If I have understood this correctly, it seems to be effectively a stem test for the second player. I can imagine there would be many ways of fitting all the letters of the original word into a new one when it's basically open house as to what letters are used. Will this be done on a 'home and away' basis with equal games for both, as I can see player 2 winning most games here. |
![]() | Martin Thomas Both players will have a chance to steal words.

Notes from the organizer: This tournament is about making words and trying to steal your opponent's words. (It works in a similar way to the game of Anagram.)
Each match will be between two players with both playing two Letters Attacks against Prune. In the first game you will be making words and in the second game you will be trying to steal the words your opponent made in their first game.
In each round you can only steal the word from the corresponding round in your opponent's game.
To steal a word you will need to make a new word that uses ALL of the letters in that word and may include some of your own. You don't need to have all these letters in your selection. This may lead to a lot of "I don't think we have the letters for that" messages so I will be scoring each game manually.
The target word must not appear in the stealing word. For example you could not steal COVER with RECOVER, COVERING or DISCOVERY etc.
If your opponent didn't score in a round then you should make a word using only your own letters and you will score for it.
You will score one point for each letter in a word you keep or a word you use in a successful theft.
The format will depend on numbers but there will probably be round-robin groups followed by a knockout stage.
If you have any questions then please ask.
