![]() | Ravi Choudhary In Option 1, are you punished with an 18 pt deduction for giving a 9 letter word? |
![]() | Andy SC @Ravi - Yes. Instead of it being the usual 18-points it would be -18 under option 1. |
![]() | Ravi Choudhary Yikes! Thank you, Andy. |
![]() | Fi Thorne Hi Andy, Thank you so much for all your hard work in organising the best advent calendar ever! I've loved playing it every morning and the three options have given it an extra element of fun! You are amazing! Happy Christmas! :-) |
![]() | Dave Kempshall Agreed Fi. Feel like the options conspired against me personally, but great fun and a great idea. Cheers, Andy. |
![]() | Adam Latchford i miss when advent calendars gave you a chocolate on xmas day itself :( great tourney andy |
![]() | Dave Kempshall You're obviously too young to remember when advent calendars simply gave you a picture of a part of the nativity story Adam. The good old days. |
![]() | Andy SC I seem to remember having an advent calendar that had either 30 or 31 days on it. I could be wrong on that one though. |
![]() | Sarah Binns Thank you for organising such a fun tournament. Merry Christmas! |
![]() | Tom Cappleman Been great fun - loved trying to balance the options, and definitely benefited from a few falling nicely. Looking forward to next year's! |
![]() | Matthew Brockwell Yes this has been fun, whole thing swung on the round I gambled on a 2/3 chance of winning. Well played T-Cap! |
![]() | Ravi Choudhary First time trying this and I liked very much. Fun and yet quite challenging. Gambled on a few options - didn't work out. Never mind. Better luck next year. |
![]() | Andy SC Option 2 was the scoring option for the round. Score for the round were as follows:

![]() | Matthew Tassier Great work Andy, I enjoyed the mix between rounds where you could easily hedge your bets and rounds where you had to gamble a bit. |
Notes from the organizer: Day 24 is a 9-Rounder.
Option 1: Nine letter words are worth -18 points
Option 2: 20 bonus points if the conundrum is solved between the range of the targets of the numbers rounds once they are divided by 100 and rounded up or down. For example if the targets of the numbers rounds are 452 and 958, you would need to solve the conundrum somewhere from the range of 4.5-9.6 seconds.
Option 3: Numbers rounds are worth 20 points if you go above 1,000 in your solution
