Our 3 test tourney guinea pigs and the 3 highest ranked players in Pro Ranks were given byes to the Round of 16 to make the numbers work. The ten winners from the preliminary round will join them there.

Trevor Potts Thanks everyone and well done on your games played so far. For those waiting for their next dart, I haven't forgotten about you! I'm just away for work at the moment, will get your darts loaded Thursday evening/Friday morning.

Trevor Potts So I tried adding some games anyway on my phone and naturally I think I've fucked it up a tad. Some of you (Liam, Andres, and Adam I think) may have an extra game. Obviously you may need that if you don't land on 291 or 301 with the first. But if not then don't worry about it. If you get to 291 or 301 and still have that spare game then play it if you want or don't, I'll make sure it doesn't count to your score.

Andres S. I was gonna ask about that actually and my thinking is that I need the game to hopefully bow out with 301. I think in my case that's needed so I'll give it my best shot

Trevor Potts I'm back and have caught up on some admin. Extra games added for those that need it.

Two players (Adam P and Ciaran M) landed on 301 but NOT with a conundrum. As per the last bullet point of the rules laid out in the notes of the sign-up page, this is bust! You each have another dart to finish, starting from the score you were on before your last game. So basically, try score the same score you got last time, but finishing on a conundrum this time. An opponent of one of these players noticed this and graciously reached out to me to offer to let their opponent 'retake' their dart without it being counted as an extra dart. While I admire the sportspersonship of this, I am the decision maker here as president of the Apterous Darts Corporation (ADC) and I am not so gracious. Rules is rules, you bust and that costs a dart.

Trevor Potts Yeah the fixture sheet just takes them in the order they appear on this tourney page. There's no simple way of doing it by the time they were actually played. The only time that really matters though is for checking the finish to see if people bust or finished on a con, and I'm checking all that manually.

Trevor Potts spreadsheet updated with a manual catch for false finishes (I need to manually input this so false finishes will still initially appear as 301 running score until I check them and update the spreadsheet) and latest scores entered.

Fi Thorne Ooops, I completely forgot about the 301 thing in my last game until it was too late, so that's me out!

Trevor Potts Unlucky Fi! Was set to be a close finish but yes, that means you have bust and have thrown the same number of darts as your opponent who has already checked out so that's game over.

Game RS1: Thomas defeats Dave by fewest rounds to reach 291 (39 to Dave's 40) after both players checked out on their 5th dart. Thomas advances to the quarter finals.

Apologies to Ciaran and Matthew T for my incorect note on their games, they actually have until 22/11 (Ciaran) and 23/11 (Matthew) to play their games should they need it. The only outstanding games that are actually due by the end of tomorrow are Lee's darts in Game PR8. I'll message Lee to give him a reminder.

Trevor Potts Hey Ian, good spot, yes. The main sheet is correctly showing 5 darts but the other two are getting confused by your conundrum checkout from the preliminary round so will fix that.

Trevor Potts spreadsheet fixed and we have another result and our first confirmed QF fixture: Ian defeats Colin by 5 darts to 6 and will face Adam in the Quarter Finals.

I'm going to wait for the preliminary round fixtures to all be finished before adding the QF fixtures as we have plenty of time and it'd be a bit silly to have 3 rounds running at once.

A reminder to those progressing to the QFs to check the game notes for the score requried as QFs onward will be 501 rather than 301. As such you will be given 6 'darts' to start with rather than 4.

Adam Latchford Got very lucky in r16 not realising that all of the rounds counted as darts thinking I just had to get to the conundrum. Happy with the rare 4 dart checkout in the quarters though

Trevor Potts Lee's games timed out so that's no score for him. As he had only one dart left to catch his opponent and 301 isn't possible in one 9 rounder, that's a win for Martin.

Spreadsheet updated with latest results and fixtures now in. Incredibly, the only game left in round of 16 in is the one that's just been added as Martin advances! So I've added the QF fixtures in too.

Please check the fixture notes carefully now as those of you playing QF games will notice you have 6 games to play with a target of 501, whereas the R16 fixture still has a 301 goal. Good luck!

Trevor Potts Adam and Trevor become our first two confirmed semi-finalists.

In each of their cases, their opponent had one dart left to equal their tally, but they both reached 491 in round one of their eight game. As it was impossible for their opponent to do the same, they could not possibly have won with their eighth dart and therefore the tie is settled.

Trevor Potts A closely fought quarter final sees Thomas just beat Fiona after reaching 491 in 65 rounds to Fiona's 68.

Thomas vs Adam becomes our first confirmed semi-final matchup.

The Round of 16 is nearly complete so I will add the new Quarter Final and Semi Final fixture once it is determined who will fill that final spot.

Trevor Potts Apologies for the delay in new darts being added, I'm without internet on my computer for a couple of days and it's a pain to do on mobile. Should have new games added and spreadsheet checked in next few days.

Trevor Potts fixtures added. Florence has hit the first 7 darter of the competition to leave Matthew requiring 123 from one dart. Florence also got to 491 with a round to spare which means Matthew needs to hit 113 within 7 rounds before leaving the numbers and nailing the con. I've worked it out and this is ONLY possible by getting 5 points on the first numbers round and a nine in all six of the letters rounds. And even then he has to beat Florence's 1.9s solve time to win.

So good luck!

Adam has reached 491 one round earlier than Thomas meaning if he hits the first conundrum in the checkout round he will win, but if he misses he will lose! No pressure :)

Once Matthew has played his game and pulled off a miracle or not, we will know the result. So I'll add the second semi-final when that happens.

Trevor Potts Florence had some bad luck with tricky doubles (conundrums) in the semi-final, allowing Trevor to win with a 7-darter. Unlucky Florence, great play throughout the tournament.
