![]() | Philip Aston If you play all your matches by due date, that’s 2 games per day on average! |
![]() | Amar Chotai Madness! |
![]() | Andy SC It has been bought to my attention of an issue that I feel needs to be addressed but I'm sure most of you do this anyway.
|
![]() | Rhys Benjamin Can I get a bonus point for getting 0? |
![]() | Last Ashwin Hero I know I'm behind but I'm really enjoying this tourney :) |
![]() | Last Ashwin Hero Hi. Regarding the table link, will the standings only be revealed at the end? As I only see a blank sheet for now |
![]() | Adam Latchford click xi table |
![]() | Last Ashwin Hero nah, only see a blank spreadsheet lol. maybe my laptop cant access it |
![]() | Amar Chotai Have you tried on your phone? Works for me |
![]() | Elwin Carlos If it helps, the table actually starts at column Q, so you might not see anything until you scroll across... |
![]() | Last Ashwin Hero got it, thanks. soz was having software issues :) |
![]() | Amar Chotai No need to apologise mate. Glad it’s all sorted :) |
![]() | John Beresford Hats off to those at the bottom end of the table who've played their games even though they weren't successful on the whole. Stephen Elsey deserves massive credit for playing 80 games even though he managed 4 wins. That's dedication and my utmost respect goes out to him and the others down there who've contributed to this event. All the best. |
![]() | Stephen Elsley Thank you John, that's a nice thing to say. Hopefully next time I'll manage a few more wins, lol. |
![]() | Amar Chotai It’s all about learning and you’ll get there mate |
![]() | Stephen Elsley Thank you Amar |
![]() | Amar Chotai No worries :) |
![]() | Andy SC Last week to play to play Round Robin games. |
![]() | Andy SC Last week to play to play Round Robin games. |
![]() | Last Ashwin Hero regarding any of my opponents who I haven't played yet. Please DM me to arrange a fixture time and date please |
![]() | Robin M Can anyone do the same for me as well thanks |
![]() | Amar Chotai And the same for me as well, thanks :) |
![]() | Stu Harkness Tourney? |
![]() | Anthony Endsor I will be on over the weekend on Saturday and Sunday. Please can anyone who has yet to play me kindly accept any challenge if online at the same time. Also feel free to aptomail for any suitable times. I don't really want to send 28 aptomails, nor I am sure does anyone else, but if we can make a joint effort then at least some of these can be played. |
![]() | Maria Chandler I sent an Aptomail to the 13 people I still have to play but have had no replies. Anyone around this weekend to get these played? Thanks |
![]() | Last Ashwin Hero I will do the same, and when you get my message I hope we can organise a game over this weekend? Thank you |
![]() | Amar Chotai I've done the same and had a few replies, it'd down to the others if they want to play them or not now |
![]() | Andy SC Last couple of days left to play any remaining games. Approximately 78.5% of games have been played. |
![]() | Adam Dexter @Maria seems likely that the people who haven't played their games are probably the same who don't check Aptomails |
![]() | Maria Chandler Yes I think you’re right Adam! |
![]() | Stu Harkness Tourney? |
![]() | Amar Chotai A suggestion for future tourneys: Cap the number of players so it makes it easier for everyone to play their games. Players who enter for the sake of entering and can’t be bothered to respond to their messages, should be removed or not allowed to take part. I know it sounds harsh, but this has has opened to me both last year and this. Just saying |
![]() | Adam Latchford Part of the joy of this tournament are the mass amount of players leading to playing many new players. Runs fine as it is and Andy does a great job. Andrew proved its possible to play everyone |
![]() | Andy SC @Amar - Capping number of players still opens to possibility of players not responding to games. I can't guarantee what players I think will be active and play games and which ones that won't. If I exclude players, it is ones that are trial members because there's hardly any point letting them in unless they are going to subscribe. I feel EC works well they way it is. If approximately 80% of games get played 3500+ games that that is a pretty good rate over a six week period I would say. In addition to that, you're always going to get the odd few people that don't play many games.
|
![]() | Dave Kempshall I agree, this is one of the big USPs of this tournament, the madness of basically having to play everyone and the challenge of trying to get those games played. A lot of people have the attitude of avoiding tournament game until some sort of 'perfect' time, which I've always struggled to understand as it's only an online words and numbers game. That is definitely a bad strategy in EC. If a game is there, get it played. |
![]() | Elwin Carlos Firstly, I think this is a well-run tournament and agree with many on what is the long running issue of tourney inactivity.
|
![]() | Dan Spinks this is a brilliant tournament, beautiful organised chaos. the more players the better I would say and if a handful have life get in the way and don't get many played then it really doesn't matter. people avoiding games in tourneys with smaller round robin groups or knockouts can really screw it up but it really has little effect in EC |
![]() | Stu Harkness I think everyone should get a +200 default victory for attempting to organise ties... |
![]() | Andy SC To add to all the above, as per previous editions of Everything Counts, any played games won't count in anyway towards the final round robin stage table. If I did award points for unplayed games, I would have to judge hundreds of games and in reality who could be bothered or want to do that. |
![]() | Philip Aston EC is an enormously competitive tournament and this edition has so far been the best yet. Bring on the best-of-3 play-offs! |
![]() | Anthony Endsor I have to say, given this is the last day with so many games still to be played and such a competitive, close run-in, I am astonished at how few players appear interested in coming online to play. |
![]() | Amar Chotai I’m not denying the fact that Andy does a great job, it is possible to polar everyone but there are always a select few when they are online don’t want to play their games for whatever reason. Therefore their participation in future ought to be looked into |
![]() | Amar Chotai Play even |
![]() | Andy SC Thanks to everyone for participating in the Round Robin stage. |

![]() | Judith Young Thank you, Andy for arranging such a mammoth tournament |
![]() | Amar Chotai Yes as ever, well run. Thanks! |
![]() | Amar Chotai Also, now that this part is over can any unplayed tourney games please be removed after logging in? Thanks |
![]() | Andy SC @Amar - - I'm working my way through removing the games which will take some time to do so. Its also possible that once I remove the games that they might still appear in your challenges section for two weeks and there's nothing i can do if that happens. |
![]() | Amar Chotai No worries, I appreciate it Andy. Many thanks :) |
Notes from the organizer: Welcome to Everything Counts XI.
This year we have a record number of participants again - 85-players in total. That’s a lot of games.
Here’s a brief explanation of how it will all work. Each player will have a game scheduled against every other player in a Standard 9 game. Hopefully everybody will play everybody (highly unlikely though) but hopefully a good chunk of games get played. Players can score points in the following ways:
4-points for a win
2-points for a draw
1-point for scoring 70+ in a game
1-point for losing by 10 or less points
The top 32 will advance to the knockout stage. The overall table can be followed at the following link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HFsbgQKKi96AK9c6IFOc1B108qaiQr1LUsxoVPwbEBY/edit#gid=504986945
Deadline for playing games is Sunday 11th February.
