Tourney round: Gladiators: Eliminator

<< The Wall | First Round (Fixtures/Tiebreakers) >>

Notes from the organizer: Well, here we are. Get ready, the two of yous, because it’s time for going on first and second whistles! The winner will be showered with praise! The loser will be taunted and booed until my throat is sore! It’s the EEEEEELIMINATOOOOOOOR!

Firstly, this is where the Contenders’ scores from the 5 preliminary events are taken and converted into a head start, which is simply the difference between the two contenders after all five events. If A is 5 points ahead of B, A gets a 5-point head start. And so on.

The Eliminator itself is a Marathon — the variant, that is. 20 Letters, 5 Numbers, and a Conundrum at the end. No tricks about this one. Factoring in the head start, whoever wins the Eliminator wins the match. Should it somehow finish a dead heat, there's going to be a separate page to essentially remind the Contenders of their fixture — a single conundrum will be scheduled, to be played whenever, and that'll break the tie.

Ya know what ya gotta do, so all that's left is a great big jee ell!
