Tourney round: Apterous Masters 2023: Sign ups
Notes from the organizer: Welcome to the 16th annual Apterous Masters, the biggest and longest running tournament on apterous!
Last year's final went all the way to the wire, with Jack Worsley just about beating Elliott Mellor 6-5...
For those who don't know how this works, every year 24 people are invited based on a set of criteria that's mostly based off last year's Masters performance, last year's televised Countdown performance and last year's co event performance. 2022 had a lot more co events than the two previous years for some reason, who would have guessed. Our list of masters are in the comments.
There is a preliminary round for everyone else to make up the remaining spots in the round of 32. The preliminary rounds (realistically it'll be about 3 games, but depends on numbers) are single game battles, with every subsequent round being longer than the previous one which gives us an epic best-of-11 final. Getting to the quarter finals guarantees you an invite for the 2024 Masters.
Sign ups are open to absolutely anyone, the more the merrier! The preliminary rounds are one game single elimination, so absolutely anyone has a chance at making the first round proper - see how far you can get :) Good luck to you all!
