Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell This is a bit late in the tournament to be scoring 160 on Duckdown.

Adam Dexter

Adam Dexter An overly confident ERE cost me a PB there :(

Chris Butler

Chris Butler I agree Gevin, 160 is terrible

Martyn Pegram

Martyn Pegram I've joined the 160ers.

Martin Long

Martin Long Might need a practice at this. I see people have picked a mixture of 1L and 2L.

Luke S

Luke S *uckdown!
Excuse the language. I am heartbroken to leave the tournament!
It was superb fun. Well organised, Matthew, and thanks for inviting me (and good luck!), Eoin.

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Glad you liked it, and wd on making top 30!
It is Apto's finest tournament. Next thing is to lobby for it to be a biannual event! 😁

Martyn Pegram

Martyn Pegram I'm through I think?

Chris Butler

Chris Butler Unfortunately not. You are currently 3rd weakest link after Luke and Gevin. I edged ahead of you on the second tie-break criteria (most points in competition so far). It's between you Eoin for the final place....

Martyn Pegram

Martyn Pegram Ah, yeah. I see what you mean.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier With a max game Tom is the Duckdown Strongest Link for the third time. Coming into form, that's 3 of the last 4 rounds that he's been Strongest Link in.

Matthew Tassier

Matthew Tassier Of the three nervous players scoring 160 only one continues as Chris B is saved based on tiebreaks. Two new players and one ever-present therefore find themselves unfortunately leaving here. Martyn, Gevin and Luke you are the Weakest Links. Goodbye!

Gevin Chapwell

Gevin Chapwell Thanks for running this again, Matthew and good luck to everyone still in.

I knew 160 was borderline as soon as I did it.

Martyn Pegram

Martyn Pegram Ah hell, I was done by a misclick on R1, which is a nice easy one to get too... but that's the way it goes!

Matthew, thanks for a fab comp, it was my 1st time trying it and I'll definitely have another go next time.

Good luck to those remaining.

Tourney round: Weakest Link Numbers Tournament 2022: Round 16 - Duckdown

<< Round 15 - Speed | Round 17 - Bullet Hyper >>

Notes from the organizer: In round sixteen the remaining players will play a Duckdown game against Apterous Velvet. In Duckdown possible targets are 101-1999 and you get 7 numbers to use rather than 6 but you must "duck" (not use) one of them. Velvet will pick the possibly simplest 2 large option, and probably solve quite a lot of rounds while not winning more than a game or two.

Some stats for this round:
Expected competitors: 26
Weakest Links required: 3
Most Duckdown Strongest Links: 2 - Tom Cappleman
Highest average Duckdown WL score: 190.8 - Elliott Mellor (5 games)
Highest scoring Duckdown Weakest Link: 160 - Tom Cappleman (2020)
Previous rounds vs this bot: 2021 Round 14 ( https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=3839 ), 2019 Round 14 ( https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=2351 ), 2016 Round 11 ( https://www.apterous.org/to_tourney.php?tourney=1674 )
For more stats see spreadsheet linked below.

THREE lowest scoring Weakest Links will be removed from the tournament this round. If there is a tie for lowest scores then margin of victory/defeat will be taken into account amongst tied players followed, if necessary, by total score in the tournament so far (see notes by matches).
