Notes from the organizer: Nine months on from when I made the conscious decision to hold this, we are into the third, and last, qualifying tournament in the Apto-Chess Championship: the Grand Prix.
The most recent Grand Prix at the time of the Championship's beginning had a different format, but I'll use the group/knockout of the current one for a bit of variety. Each player participates in 3 out of 4 tourneys (groups of 4, group winners advance to a knockout stage), and then they're given points based on performance in each one. The groups will last 20 days and the knockout games will be 7 days, but aptomail threads will be set up immediately to ensure they're organised as much as possible.
In terms of participants, most people from the Grand Swiss who played and arranged enough games are assumed to be taking part — there's a 20-strong list of people who don't need to sign up in the Grand Prix page of the spreadsheet at the bottom. If you want to be taken off this list, just give me a shout. There are also a few people that have already qualified to the Candidates' Tournament: Hazel Drury, Ronan M Higginson, Florence C-L and Tom Cappleman/Zohaib Rehan (depending on who wins their deciding game). They're not on the above list, but I'll put them on if they want.

That's pretty much everything — if you're signing up, gl!
