George Armstrong

George Armstrong A rather simple one, yet might be hard to pull off - pick 6S and solve your target bang on for your bonuses. It's probably gonna be quite hard getting there with just 3 or 4 of your numbers, so you won't be "burning" many :)

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson So far in the tourney, the nums bonuses have been the most fun and the most gettable...

All the monster scores so far have come from numbers games. I expect the biggest score of Rd3 will come from nums once again -and I predict the highest score (i.e. score + bonuses) of the tourney so far will come from a Rd3 numbers game!

As someone who marginally prefers nums, and has been disappointed by the lack of attention the numbers get on
Apto (e.g. watchwords and plenty of items awarded for letters, but zilch for numbers, etc), this is very refreshing to see.

But as a participant, I am glad that the greatest pressure to score well is on the numbers player, and not on me! lol
Good luck everyone!

Dave Kempshall

Dave Kempshall So far, the standard is ridiculously high. I'm almost scared to play my game!

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson It is! The bonuses being scored here are immense!

My challenge to George is to calibrate a future round whereby the average bonus points scored per numbers game is <5, and the ave scored per conundrum or letters game is >40, just to put the scoring pressure on one of the other 2 players, cuz right now, this is a "Power of Numbers" tourney.

George Armstrong Yeahsome of the later numbers rounds were already set to be less achievable, although I've just add an idea for one of them...

George Armstrong

George Armstrong *had. God I can't even write today :D

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Cool... well even if it continues in a way where the bonuses for nums are astronomical and for cons, meagre... this is a great tourney! Congrats on the conception and execution.

(It comes close to rivalling WL nums as the best one on Apto.)

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Thanks Eoin, don't wanna spoil too much of what's coming in later rounds, but balance may well be restored at some point

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Btw, if you are stuck for ideas and want a really easy way to create monster bonuses in a Con round... simply award a bonus for any con solved that starts with a consonant! (I know it just leaves it up to luck again, but still... It's bloody hard to think of any Con bonuses that aren't luck or speed based.)
