Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Dr. Who?! I've watched a fair bit of that, but have not come across the episode / reference.
However if we're talking "Charmed", TPOT is pivotal to the entire concept!

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Getting closer to that unconfirmed cut-off point, so I might as well reveal some more details:

Attached is a link to the spreadsheet table, with all 9 variants listed. I'll keep the bonus points criteria under wraps until each round is live.

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Cool... but you need more!
2 more! Or maybe 5 or 8 or 11 or 14 or 17 or 20 or 23 or...
(...I could go on like this)

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Possibly, but given every round needs a letters, numbers, and conundrum attack it ruled a few out (goat and the unlimiteds to name just a couple). Plus I wanted to leave out the nicher one likes Spoilage and Duckdown so that the tourney seemed more accessible to all :).

Eoin Jackson

Eoin Jackson Ah no... the format and selection is fine. I meant more players / teams.
(At least 2 more, as we need a multiple of 3.)

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Ah...

Indeed, they're open until the end of the month (roughly), once we get past Xmas Day I'll see where we're at and stop once we get a multiple :)

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns Duckdown niche?! Based on Andy’s tournament it seems to be the most popular variant going 😜

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Hehe fair point, but tbf they've only shown their love for the DD letters (thus far...)

Elizabeth Beer

Elizabeth Beer Not allowing access to the speadsheet

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Oh... I'll try and fix that this aft...

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Ok that should be working now:

Philip Aston

Philip Aston Good choice of formats for accessibility.

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Ok so we've hit 45, seems like a good multiple of 3. I'll do the draw in aptochat tonight after the ZD final and set up group mails for each team so you can decide who's playing what.

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Ok the draw is done - thanks to Andres for assisting. Teams can be found on the spreadsheet (see a few comments up). I've set mail threads up for each team. As soon as you decide upon your roles we can begin :)

George Armstrong

George Armstrong To clarify (as I've been asked in mail) - one person plays all the letters rounds, one player plays all the numbers rounds, etcetc (we're not changing every round)

Wesley Barton

Wesley Barton When will we find out more about the bonuses for each round?

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Yeah I'll reveal them as each round goes live

Adam Dexter

Adam Dexter Could you please repeat the total column to the left of the scores so that scrolling right/left isn't needed in these early stages? Thanks :)

George Armstrong

George Armstrong Sorted - will do that :)

Tourney round: The Power of Three: Sign Ups

Round 1 - Normal (Letters) >>

Notes from the organizer: No, it's not that bang average episode of Doctor Who, but rather a fun new tourney kicking off in January!

The lowdown - there are 9 different rounds to be played, going through different variants. Each round will consist of a letters, a numbers, and a conundrum attack. Players will be drawn into teams of 3, with one responsible for tackling the letters attacks, one the numbers attacks, and one the conundrum attacks. Who plays what will be up to you to decide, but there will be a bonus points system in place for each of the rounds, with each bonus being worth an extra 5 points.

All your points will be combined over the nine rounds - but which trio will prevail as the victors?

Sign ups will stay open for MOST of December (if we get towards the end and I have a multiple of three signed up I'll shut shop up early). The team draw will take place in late Dec / early Jan in aptochat for an early Jan start, with new rounds (hopefully) starting weekly.

Any questions, please ask away. Let's be avin ya!
