Dave Robjohns Yes apologies, can confirm this is this evening at 8pm, and will actually be our 2nd live event :) Everything bar the first line still accurate!

Tourney round: Aptolympics: Tokyo 2021: Event 15: Heptathlon

Notes from the organizer: Event 15 is the heptathlon, which will be the third live event, taking place on Saturday 27th June.

You will play 7 15 round games against Prune, in the following formats: Lockdown, Blind, Nasty, Flat, Goatblind, Nice & Octorock.

Much like the heptathlon, your scores from these games are converted into points, roughly set up such that you'll be awarded around 1000 points for a "good" score, and a record would earn you around 1300 points, roughly on par with the real thing.

100m Hurdles - Lockdown 15 - getting over the slight hurdle that two letters are fixed.
High Jump - Blind 15 - because most Fosbury flop backwards over the bar.
Shot Put - Nasty 15 - Shot puts are heavy.
200m - Flat 15 - Event is pure running, sprinting for the line
Long Jump - Goatblind 15 - I was running out of ideas
Javelin - Nice 15 - Much more normal throwing action, it's nice
800m - Octorock 15 - Reusing the 8/octo link.

These 7 events are so chosen because 5 are low-ish variance (you don't get double for 9s). You do get double for 9s in the two blind games, but these will be hard to spot! These represent the two jumping events, which are more high variance in heptathlon anyway - athletics fans may recall KJT scoring 0 in LJ one world championship.

All 7 events have 3 different multipliers, and scores are calculated by doing a(Score - b)^c

2020 Winner: Joseph H (GBR) - 7775 points (easily a world record, so I will do some recalibrating...)
