Thomas Carey The 16 of you in this round who don't immediately have a game, you'll be playing the winner of one of the (3) matches, I'll check for any new games to put in pretty frequently. Ask if you have any questions I guess :)

Thomas Carey Cheers to Rhys for doing the draw in chat, and everyone who came to watch and saw the James v Fred matchup birthed just after Sam's baby (congrats!)
Dave Robjohns Is there a draw anywhere for which (3) winners the 16 with byes will play/the routes to the final round etc?
Dave Robjohns Ah right exciting, cheers :) Just spotted 6 round two games had been drawn so assumed they all had!
Thomas Carey I'll put the games up as soon as they're 'ready', i.e. both games leading up to them have been completed. Draw for them has already been done
George Armstrong In which case, leading back to Dave's question, is there a spreadsheet or tourney tree or something where these future games are detailed?
Thomas Carey patience young georgehopper (yes there is but i figured it'd be best to keep them secret until they're relevant)
George Armstrong Cool beans Mr Maus :)
Rhys Benjamin personally never understood why the masters doesn't use the masters format
Thomas Carey *shrug* take it up with Ben I guess
Matthew Tassier Personally I've never understood why you don't fly us all to Maine and make us walk five miles following a tiny white ball counting the number of times it moves.

Thomas Carey that was the original plan but due to current travel restrictions we're having to do this instead
Rhys Benjamin Oh well, can't beat 13 maxes when you're me. Following the rest of this with great interest.
Rhys Benjamin Well, this mammoth round is ending tonight...!
Thomas Carey heh, was vaguely arranged for 8:30 but looks like it's probably not happening tonight, was gonna do the draw tonight but oh well, i'll do it when the game gets played in the next couple of days i guess
Thomas Carey Thank you so much to literally all of you for getting all your games played! Those of you who didn't get through here, cheers for playing and hopefully see you in 2021 :) |
Notes from the organizer: Thank you so much to everyone who signed up! There's 81 people in this year's tournament, which makes it the biggest Masters ever... and now it's time to slowly eliminate 80 of you.
Here we have the preliminary rounds, where the 60 of you in this round keep playing single game matches until either you lose or you make it to the next stage - the number in brackets by your game is how many more games (including that one) you have to win to get out of this stage. Win a game with a (1) and you're through. Because of numbers, some of you will have to win 2 games, some of you will have to win 3 - I've done the draw on random.org, sorry if you got unlucky.
I'll give two week deadlines for the games in this round (deadlines are the dates in the notes box), but do ask for extensions if you need them, I'll allow a few days because I'd much rather the games get played.
Uh, yeah, I think that's it. Good luck everybody!
TL;DR beat whoever gets put in front of you, two week deadlines, glhf
