M S R

M S R Regardless of outcome, there will be a tie-breaker. #Todd2020 will be aiming to possibly head for 36 electoral votes and 3rd, whilst #Tassier2020 and #Down2020 will be looking to chalk up their first votes. The TB round will go live once this has finished. Rex only likes 4L for Hyper...For now.

M S R

M S R Make that 4. #Worsley2020 in contention.

Seeing as we need a tie-breaker round already for this whilst the Standard NA was won outright may prove #Todd2020's podcast comment on Hyper numbers being easier. IMO anyway.

Tim Down

Tim Down For me, it's easier to max a hyper numbers attack than a standard one.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd The tiebreak against Rex should certainly be easier.

Dave Robjohns

Dave Robjohns I definitely agree you get fewer very tough rounds in Hyper. A fair few of us had non 200 maxes in Normal too, whereas so far all 13 attempts here have had 200 max.

The stats difference is surprisingly small - for 1L in Normal and 2L in Hyper:

Average points: 9.93 vs 9.93
Exactly possible: 97.795% vs 97.808% for Hyper.

For the tiebreak, 97.73% of 4L Hyper rounds are exactly possible, vs 90.68% of 4L rounds in Normal, so we could still see some 200s!

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Sorry if this has already been stated somewhere, but will the tiebreak be a Numbers Attack or a Sudden Death Numbers? I suppose either way I can see it going past round 20 for a few players.

M S R

M S R Normal Hyper numbers attack against Rex. Game 1 should hopefully decide things. If not, there'll be a Game 2. Then Game 3. If that hasn't managed it, then it'll be a coin toss.

M S R

M S R With Mississippi closing, a lot rides on the tie-break. #Down2020 and #Tassier2020 could chalk up their first votes. If #Worsley2020 wins, it'll give him 38 and put him into 2nd (ahead of #Robjohns2020 on states carried). If #Todd2020 wins (and is able to take Missouri as well), it'll put him into 3rd place with 34 votes.

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Some people yet to play this round who could easily join the tiebreak too.

M S R

M S R Make that 5. #Barcet2020 will be hunting for his first electoral votes as well.

Bradley Horrocks

Bradley Horrocks Maybe the TB could be bullet hyper? That's what a friend of mine thought anyway :P

Andy SC Is this friend named Bradina?

M S R

M S R Hmm...Bradina's idea sounds good. Thoughts?

Callum Todd

Callum Todd Nah a rexy tiebreak works because if everyone scores 200 again so will rex so it'll keep going. If all 5 of us score exactly 380 then fair enough but chances are the tiebreak will work.

M S R

M S R I'm in Birmingham, he's in Hampshire, but I can hear #Robjohns2020 swearing quite loudly :P

M S R

M S R Six in for the tie-break. Round will be put up in due course. Congratulations owed to those who maxed it-Rex awaits ye.

Tourney round: Apterous Presidential Election: Washington

<< Missouri | North Dakota >>

Notes from the organizer: We're in Washington. Home state also of the famous Jason Larsen. Known as 'the Evergreen State.' Apt, seeing as it was one of the first to legalize weed.

12 electoral votes up for grabs and we're doing numbers with a dash of rainbow-a Hyper NA. Thank me later.

Just to be clear, this is north-western state, not the city. The fact it was named 'Washington' in times of ye olde to avoid confusion with the capital is wonderfully ironic.
