Fiona T Andy, can you explain what double elimination is please?

Ronan M Higginson

Ronan M Higginson Double elimination is where if someone loses first time, they get another go, and are then out if they lose that

Andy SC NOTE: In double elimination if you lose your first game you will be placed into the losers bracket and if you lose in that bracket you will be eliminated from the tournament.

Ben Leyburn

Ben Leyburn i may well need double elimination to get a second game!

Andy SC

Andy SC Think it is safe to say that this tournament is most likely going to be double elimination.

Tourney round: The Big One: Sign-up page 2

<< Sign-up page | Main Tournament Page >>

Notes from the organizer: Made on arse of the first tourney page so here is the second one.

Do you like tournaments? Do you like big things? Do you like completely random tournament draws? If you answered yes to all three, then this will be the tournament for you. If you answered no to any of them, then this is still the thing for you.

Firstly, no. This tournament is not the roller coaster located at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. This tournament will consist of one massive knockout tournament consisting of one-off games played to the Standard 15 format. Before the tournament starts, a draw will be conducted, which will set the tournament bracket in motion. Players will have two weeks to play their games. The two-week limit is dependent on how many people sign-up for the tournament.

When the tournament commences, the end date on the tournament page will be a long one. This end date will not be the date for completing your games. The date for completing your game will appear in the notes section next to your game on the tournament page. The reason for this is to save the need for creating a new tournament page for every round.

In addition to the above, I thought that I could also turn this tournament into a Double Elimination Tournament. However, I will leave that decision in your hands. To vote for what option you would like, nice one or both of the options in the comments section. The option with the most votes will be the winner.

Anybody is welcome to sign-up. It would be preferable if you were a full member. Sign-ups will remain open until the 17th of April. Let’s see if we can try and make this one of Apterous largest tournaments in terms of participant numbers.

That is all to say for now. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
