Bradley Horrocks Thanks to Sam for helping with the draw, you can see how it unfolded here: https://www.apterous.org/chat.php?jumptime_hour=23&jumptime_mins=10&jump_day=08&jump_month=06&jump_year=2018
Bradley Horrocks All of these first round games have a deadline of 24th June (I'm getting used to this tourney stuff) - bracket is on challonge here: https://challonge.com/k8fb4ho1
Elliott Mellor Can I demand I redraw?
Bradley Horrocks Yes, it is free too (+£100 admin costs)
Anthony Endsor Is that reduced to £50 if paid within 7 days? :)
Bradley Horrocks Afraid not, I can't cut corners with admin costs! :P
Elliott Mellor Do you accept cheque?
Gevin Chapwell You're demanding a redraw??? But yeah, I would have no problem with that!
Bradley Horrocks Tourney update: The round 1 deadline has passed. Zack K wins his tie on a coin toss. The other two ties have ongoing correspondence and have been given an extension until Tuesday. In general, players will have two weeks to complete their current match.
Bradley Horrocks We have our first placings:
| |
Bradley Horrocks (wins in Top Bracket count as 2 for placings)
| |
Bradley Horrocks 19th - Thomas Cappleman (1W, 340P)
| |
Bradley Horrocks Matthew is the first to book his spot in the semi final, and relegates Dan to the bottom bracket in the process.
Bradley Horrocks Callum will be Matthew's opponent after beating Ben in a thriller. The winner will be one win away from glory.
Bradley Horrocks Callum looks like a force to be reckoned with in this tournament. He seals his position in the final with an impressive win over Matthew! Even worse for whoever faces him, they'll have to beat him twice to win the tourney, as Callum is currently undefeated. The bottom half is slightly behind but I still anticipate the final will be up by the end of the month.
Bradley Horrocks 12th - Sam Prouse (3W, 470P)
| |
Gevin Chapwell Is it definitely right that Sam Prouse finished ahead of me when I knocked him out?
Sam Prouse Shhhh, i could have had a decent result for once :P
Chris Butler Cheers for hosting Bradley :)
Bradley Horrocks That's a quirk of the scoring system, byes don't count as proper wins. Arguably unfair if you have an inactive opponent as you did, but that's an element of bad luck with the draw!
Gevin Chapwell Did Sam even have 3 wins? I can only count 2!
Sam Prouse Guess my bribe didn’t go unnoticed then...

Tim Down Cheers for organising, Bradley.
Bradley Horrocks Thanks Tim. I have plans to introduce a new numbers tourney in November, so keep an eye out for that.
Gevin Chapwell So you could "win" the tournament but not win?
Bradley Horrocks The top 2 will be the finalists
Bradley Horrocks 6th - Dan Byrom (6W, 590P)
|
Notes from the organizer: Everyone will begin in this bracket - if you win, you stay in this bracket. If you lose, you drop to the bottom bracket. A quick few points:
1) The deadline for playing your match will be in the notes.
2) I encourage Aptomail as a means of communication, especially if deadlines are approaching. You'll receive a reminder when there's a week left to play. Let me know if you're struggling.
3) Extensions can be granted if there is a certain time shortly after the deadline where the game will be played.
4) Enjoy!
Ran from: 9 June – 8 August 2018. Format: Instant Numbers Attack. Matches: One-off. Approved.
Fixtures: 28. Completed: 28.
Key. Green: winner. Red: loser. Grey: tie. (Stripes: provisional, match in progress.)
